About the Role:
The Technical Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs that empower our employees with the skills and knowledge they need to excel. This position works closely with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to create training content that is up-to-date, relevant, and engaging. Additionally, it will oversee our apprenticeship program to ensure that apprentices receive comprehensive training and mentorship to succeed in their roles.
Accountable For:
Designing, delivering, and evaluating on-the-job training programs, supervisor development courses, and apprenticeship initiatives tailored for operations teams.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain training resources: user manuals, troubleshooting guides, job aids, presentations, videos and hands-on assessments.
Teach technical skills using a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, workshops, hands-on demonstrations and skill assessments.
Assess employee performance and provide feedback and coaching to improve their technical understanding and proficiency.
Evaluate candidates through interviews and skill assessments for hire and enrollment into internal training programs.
Provide oversight for apprenticeship and internal training programs, ensuring effective implementation, mentorship, and alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with engineering, production and quality teams to stay current on product updates and identify training requirements.
Be prepared to support production work during surge periods.
Ability to flex schedule to provide training coverage to various shifts as needed.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure training content is relevant.
Produce training schedules and classroom agendas.
Ensure trainings records are up to date and readily available to operations staff.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Minimum of 5 years' experience required.
Previous experience as a trainer or instructor delivering adult learning sessions preferred.
Experience with electrical circuits, AC/DC theory, automation and safety protocols.
Experience using learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.

What You'll Be Responsible For
PROFESSIONAL LEARNING FACILITATION
* Deliver engaging professional learning workshops; including, but not limited to, initial implementation workshops, virtual workshops, and state/regional/national conference presentations.
* Deliver intentional job-embedded professional learning; including, but not limited to, formal coaching cycles, demonstration lesson cycles, co-teaching, lesson planning, PLC facilitation, etc.
* Design and deliver custom professional learning workshops according to the needs of individual PL partners as demand dictates.
CONTENT SUPPORT
* Develop correlations, custom curriculum, rubrics and/or other documents to support specific PL partner needs.
* Support the sales team in pre- and post- sales environments including RFP/proposal design, pre-sales discussions, formal presentations, and supporting pilot opportunities.
