Who We Are

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is currently seeking a motivated, results-oriented Training Specialist in support of projects that include training analysis, curriculum designing, and development military training programs which includes Submarine systems, Aircraft Carriers, Unmanned vehicles, and Surface Ship combat systems. These training courses will support operator and maintenance technicians proficiency. This position will be located in Virginia Beach, VA. #LI-CJ1 *EP *MV *TL

What You Will Do

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.

Will be working with Submarine Learning Center and program office to maintain courses of instruction and when called on to deliver courses.

What You Must Have

* 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
* Experience with U.S. Navy Submarine HM&E systems.
* Familiarity with Content Planning Module (CPM) and Learning Object Module (LOM) end to end training at the Naval Education and Training Command.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.

Bonus Points

* Knowledge of NAVEDTRA instructions.
* Certified Navy Instructor (NEC 9502) with Navy Master Training Specialist.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Area Reps (AR's) are Subject Matter Experts on the entire EBS and CARTS R/M system elements and hardware, and know how to work with the various stakeholder associated support groups. With this expertise they perform the following (but not limited to) work:

+ are liaisons between DeCA Store Directors and other EBS support functions. Store Directors reach out to AR's when they determine that normal support processes are not flowing as they should. AR's investigate and marshal resources to get to resolution

+ are IBM representatives to the client, and there is a trust relationship between the AR's and Store Directors

+ analyze store performance from trouble ticket data and determine what actions could be developed for low performing stores

+ provide guidance as needed for 'off the wall' issues that have no precedent

+ provide store training as requested by Store Directors, or provide information to help the store with a process they may be struggling with

+ develop knowledge base articles for the Help Desk based on exposure to store and ticket date

+ develop / update client facing user guides and user manuals as needed, driven by new functionality or updates to current applications

+ can fully train end users at new stores

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

+ Professionally certified training professional

+ At least 3 years experience in POS cashier InLane and Self Checkout training

+ Superior organizational skills

+ Strong situational awareness of stakeholder issues and interactions

+ Excellent written and verbal communicator

+ Able to travel extensively, pimarily in the OCONUS region, through August 2022

+ Occasional travel after August, 2022

+ Must have a functioning DeCA provided CAC
