Where is the work: This position has been designated as full-time, on-site at our Minneapolis, MN facility and is considered safety-sensitive. Job Summary: The Facilities / Maintenance manager is responsible for the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery, including HVAC, building lighting systems, production lines, grounds keeping, security and overall facility appearance ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians, coordinating with external contractors, and ensuring that all facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards to support operational efficiency and safety. The manager is also tasked with developing and implementing maintenance schedules, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The goal is to minimize downtime, extend the lifespan of assets, and support the organization's operational objectives through proactive and efficient maintenance practices. What you will do: * · Lead facility, grounds, and equipment maintenance and improvement efforts * · Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities including Predictive, Preventive, and Autonomous Maintenance projects and initiatives * · Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and timely repair of equipment * · Plan and propose strategic capital expenditures and budgeting to senior leadership * · Collaborate with site-management and HR on building safety, security, and emergency preparedness efforts * · Ensure facilities comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations * · Plan and execute facility improvement projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management * · Support projects, such as layout changes and equipment installations, including 5S and Kaizen efforts * · Maintain all inspection, audit, and maintenance records * · Supervise maintenance staff, delegate tasks, and ensure work is completed efficiently and safely * · Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency * · Assist EHS with implementing strategies for energy reduction, waste reduction and water conservation to reduce the environmental impact of facilities * · Select, develop, and supervise employees in the maintenance department * · Set a consistent example for others in management effectiveness, leadership style, communication, and integrity * · Perform other duties as required or requested What you will bring: * · Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) * · Ability to plan, execute, and oversee maintenance projects * · Strong working knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) * · Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues * · Ability to lead and motivate a team, communicate effectively, and build strong relationships with stakeholders (staff, vendors, contractors, etc.) * · Creative thinking to find effective solutions * · Understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. * · Familiarity with energy audits, waste management strategies, and other sustainability best practices. * · Strong verbal and written communication skills * · Bachelor's degree preferred, relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree. * · 2-4+ years leadership experience * · 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment * · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Compensation: Base Pay Range: $96,000 - $160,000 Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. A Lead TMS Development Engineer leads the engineering and analysis required to design and commercialize thermal management systems. This includes both the development of new systems and specifying key equipment and control capabilities for industry leading reliability and performance. This position will primarily focus on data center design and control including the broader semiconductor ecosystem. This position requires demonstrated mastery in one or more relevant areas of expertise while simultaneously pursuing new system development opportunities. Common activities will include concept design, system analysis including modeling, evaluation of available equipment and controls for system applications, piping schematics, mode tables and creation of commercial documentation and tools for system market introduction. This position requires engineering analysis, design documentation and some project management activity. Some level of support for field sales offices and participation in key industry associations are an expected part of this role. Where is the work: Standard Flex Schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote out of the following locations. * Davidson, NC * La Crosse, WI * Lexington, KY * Minneapolis, MN What you will do: * Provide subject matter expertise in thermal management system design, particularly for the data center and semiconductor ecosystem, while maintaining broad HVAC systems and product knowledge. * Build deep knowledge and understanding of equipment operation and limitations and apply this knowledge with a critical eye to system design, analysis, control and operation. * Develop thermal management systems using Trane or sourced equipment and controls including project scoping, concept development, engineering analysis, creation of commercialization content and tools, and system validation. * Evaluate complex, special, and advanced engineering problems working independently with minimal supervision. * Serve as subject matter expert on capabilities to improve existing systems and processes. * Collaborate with and influence product teams to achieve common objectives * May provide periodic routine to intensive technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians assigned to work on large projects. * Analyze system issues using appropriate modeling tools and techniques. Where needed, collaborate with modeling and simulation specialists to develop new tools. * Develop and document thermal management system modes, sequence of operations, and other system level control requirements. * Perform field validation through digital and jobsite fulfillment and analysis activity. * Provide key technical support in pursuit of Trane business, including participation on strategic job acquisition teams. * Develop and deliver technical presentations for customers and industry association events. * Serve on industry association committees such as ASHRAE in the development of technical materials, codes and/or standards. * Overnight travel 5 - 15% depending on assigned projects, some international travel is possible. What you will bring: * A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university with a strong thermal/fluid energy and/or controls background. An MBA is beneficial but is not required. * A minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering work experience * Completion of the Trane Graduate Training Program is beneficial but is not required. * A Professional Engineering license is beneficial but is not required. * Ability to travel independently both domestically and internationally. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: * Engineering background in data center/high-tech design is strongly desired. * Experience with PLC controls is a plus. * Experience with onsite power generation and/or backup power distribution is a plus. * Knowledge of HVAC products, components, and systems is desired. * Strong thermal/fluid energy and/or controls background is a plus. * Strong technical skills with a natural curiosity and enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills. * Technically creative yet grounded in real world feasibility. * Able to perform thorough and objective analysis. * Able to collaborate with and influence others * Self-motivated and disciplined. * Willing and able to transfer knowledge to other groups. * Good stand-up skills in front of customers and the field sales force. * Polished and professional, particularly with customers and in professional societies. * Strong written and oral communication skills. Can effectively identify key ideas and develop organized content to share those ideas across a diverse stakeholder group. * Ability to speak and write in English. * Able to effectively use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
