    TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a temporary full-time Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator to join our team in Miramar, FL. As a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator, your primary responsibility is to monitor and manage traffic flow, incidents, and emergencies within a designated area or road network. You will work in a centralized control facility equipped with advanced technology and communication systems to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Real-Time Traffic Monitoring: Utilize traffic management software, cameras, and other monitoring tools to observe real-time traffic conditions. Identify congestion, incidents, and abnormal traffic Incident Response: Coordinate with emergency services, law enforcement, and road maintenance crews in response to incidents such as accidents, road closures, or hazardous conditions. Implement appropriate traffic control measures to mitigate the impact of Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders including traffic control authorities, law enforcement, emergency services, and road maintenance personnel. Provide accurate and timely information to the public through variable message signs, social media, or other communication channels. Traffic Management Strategies: Implement and adjust traffic management strategies to optimize traffic flow during peak hours, special events, or incidents. Collaborate with other TMC Operators to share information and coordinate efforts for network-wide traffic management. Data Analysis: Analyze traffic data and reports to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities to enhance overall traffic efficiency. Generate reports on traffic incidents, response times, and system performance. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning of equipment, such as cameras, sensors, and communication systems, through regular checks and maintenance procedures. Report any technical issues promptly to the maintenance. Working Conditions: 24/7-365 operations including nights, weekends and holidays on a rotational work schedule. Dedicated technician holiday schedule. Work in a centralized traffic management center with advanced technology infrastructure. Required Skills & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus). Previous experience in traffic management, transportation, or a related field is preferred. Proficient in using traffic management software and monitoring tools. Strong communication and coordination skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and emergency response procedures. Analytical skills for interpreting traffic data and making informed decisions. Able and willing to work a flexible 24/7-365 days rotating schedule. Summary: This position will perform underground utility construction to include Conduit and Fiber Optic Cable installation, Concrete work along a horizontal plane "flatwork," and other general services as needed. Candidates selected for this position must be able to travel out of town for short periods of time, and work nights as needed to perform the duties of the position. Job Duties will be the following, but not limited to: Install equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, controller cabinets. Install electrical conductor, data conductor, fiber optic cable, pull boxes, conduit, poles, and foundations. Perform Conduit and Fiber Optic Cable installation and Concrete work along a horizontal plane "flatwork." Connects conductors to equipment to make equipment work correctly. Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities. Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Completes reports, logs, and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and local practices. Other general labor services as needed. Requirements: Must complete and pass a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) background check and/or SLERS as required by the project. Must have the ability to travel out of town for short periods of time, and work nights as needed to perform the duties of the position. Must have the ability to lift 100lb. bags of concrete for mixing. Must be able to work at heights from 50ft or more from an aerial lift, bucket trucks or crane basket. Must be able to work outdoors in the heat for extended periods of time. Ability to dig trench with shovel or mini-X, use basic hand tools and basic battery-operated tools. Strong Verbal Communication Skills A valid driver's license and safe driving record. Preferred: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) CDL A License, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certified, General computer skills and knowledge. Physical and Environmental Demands This role requires the ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating manuals, and written instructions, as well as to write routine reports and communicate effectively with teams and customers. Basic math skills are needed, including calculations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and interpreting simple data visuals. Employees must be able to follow detailed instructions and apply sound judgment to resolve routine issues. The position involves regular physical activity such as standing for extended periods, walking, climbing ladders or scaffolds, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, up to 100 lbs frequently, and occasionally more than 100 lbs. Work may occur in varied environments including dusty, dirty, hot, wet, or confined spaces such as ditches or elevated areas. Vision requirements include depth perception, color recognition, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, electrical hazards, and traffic, with occasional work at heights. Noise levels are typically loud. Travel to job sites may be required, sometimes up to 100 miles or more from the home office, using a company vehicle.
