A SHORT LIST OF YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct thorough diagnostic tests to identify transmission and drivetrain problems
Perform repairs and rebuilds on manual and automatic transmissions
Inspect and replace worn-out or damaged parts
Perform routine maintenance, including fluid changes and filter replacements
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Keep accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor time
Communicate effectively with customers, providing detailed explanations of repairs and recommendations

Overview of Your Role: As a Germain Ford Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of Ford related diagnosis, repair and maintenance activities on vehicles at our dealership. Your increasingly broad knowledge of how the complex components of a vehicle interact will be critical as you work in accordance with factory and dealership standards. In the end, your goal is to perform high quality work that not only delivers on, but also exceeds, dealership and customer expectations. Responsibilities:
Performs transmission repair as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory time allowances and standards.
Diagnose cause of malfunction.
Remove and disassembles transmission unit and performs repair.
Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
Advise service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be made.
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Install repaired transmission, replaces fluids and makes appropriate adjustments.
Road test vehicle when required.
Document work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Attend manufacturer-sponsored training classes.
Keep abreast of manufacturer's technical service bulletins.
Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Maintain all dealership-owned tools. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
Understand, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Report any safety issues immediately to management.
Other tasks as assigned.
