SUMMARY: The Starmark Service Center Commercial Driver performs regional white glove deliveries of Starmark Funeral Products to funeral homes and Distributor locations. A regional route averages an 800-1000-mile round trip radius and will require overnight stays to complete. Routes can require loading and unloading all types of freight using provided equipment as well as delivering to multiple types of locations. The driver will plan and perform routes adjusting their schedule to make deliveries on time while following DOT laws and HOS regulations. The driver will adhere to excellent service standards maintaining high customer satisfaction and Safety compliance ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Supervisor in leading the location. Inspect trucks for defects before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition. When loading trucks, review delivery notes to ensure that all items listed are loaded and that all loaded items are listed. Correct any discrepancies prior to leaving the loading dock. Maintain driver log according to Department of Transportation (“DOT”) regulations (no need to log if less than 150 miles as a crow flies). Verify delivery schedule is achievable before departing and ensure on time delivery of customer orders. Upon each delivery, double check unloaded items against the delivery note and secure a signature from the recipient on the delivery note, collect any COD payments, and ensure reloading of all pads, stacks and straps. Submit all signed delivery notes, logs, and other paperwork to the Supervisor in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure a message of good quality and ethics to funeral professionals, crematory operators and the public. Service Center Driver is the face of Starmark and must ensure professionalism and customer service at all times. Identify and assess customer needs to achieve satisfaction. Build sustainable relationships during deliveries with trust through open & interactive communication with other team members, Vandor Funeral Products organization, and funeral professionals and their staff.
