Job DescriptionDescription Hunger Prevention Truck Driver Reports to: Director of Nutrition Education, Partnerships, and Warehouse Operations Position Type: Temporary, Part-time YMCA of Greater Boston - Hunger Prevention Truck Driver The YMCA of Greater Boston is dedicated to improving the health of mind, body, and spirit of individuals and families in our communities. The YMCA is a lead partner for the Greater Boston Food Bank and operates a warehouse distribution center that packages and delivers 4,500+ grocery bags weekly to more than 47 partners through the city of Boston. Under the direction of the Director of Nutrition Education, Partnerships, and Warehouse Operations, the Hunger Prevention Truck Driver is responsible for pickups from the Greater Boston Food Bank to the YMCA Distribution Center. May also provide support in other areas as assigned. EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Driver's License and Clean Driving Record Experience with pallet jack Experience driving a box truck Have excellent customer service skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 -15 pounds. Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Responsibilities: The Hunger Prevention Truck Driver role is responsible for pickups from the Greater Boston Food Bank to the YMCA Distribution Center. This position reports to the Director of Nutrition Education, Partnerships, and Warehouse Operations. Job Responsibilities: Picks up food pallets from Greater Boston Food Bank according to schedule Unloading all food from Greater Boston Food Bank at the Hunger Prevention Distribution Center Maintains cleanliness of YMCA vans/trucks Reports van/truck maintenance needs in a timely manner Safely transports grocery bags from the distribution center to various community sites on a needs-based basis Support any duties within the Hunger Prevention Department
