Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Responsible for the management and oversight of freight movements into and out of Cat Parts Clayton Inbound Processing Center (IPC) and Distribution Center (DC) warehouse:· Interface with suppliers, facilities, dealers and internal and external transportation partners to facilitate the movement of freight· Manage daily activities i.e trailer pools, OTP, OTD, as it relates to transportation carriers and service providers· Manage operational relationships with transportation carriers and service providers· Manage transportation carrier performance metrics for all movements including international shipments ie Dray to/from MWCCD· Provide transportation carrier updates and RCCA's to internal customer facilities and dealers· Manage jockey service performance metrics and associated yard management process· Manage Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process for all transportation lanes Work closely with the Global Transportation team (ILS), GMM, Cat Parts Velocity, Cat Parts Operations organization to develop sustainable transportation solutions for the Clayton IPC and DC facilities yielding significant value in the form of velocity improvements and cost reductions:· Identify and recommend opportunities for transportation network improvements· Point of contact for lane requirements and lane bids with Transportation Procurement· Lead and/or participate in Transportation and Cat Parts 6 Sigma projects as a Green Belt or Subject Matter Expert· Work with the Global Transportation team to replicate best practices and standardize transportation processes using CPS methodology· Participate and take leadership role in value stream activities or Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW) as needed Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related degree; in lieu of degree, 5+ years of equivalent work experience2+ years of relevant operational transportation experience In depth data analysis knowledge/experience (e.g. Excel, pivot tables) Top Candidates will also have:Proven track record of developing, implementing, and controlling process improvement solutions Excellent presentation and communication skills Experience working with import/export freight movement and subsequent documentation Previous experience managing carrier relationships and regulations Previous experience interfacing with Caterpillar suppliers/dealers Previous experience with Transportation Manager (TM) Previous experience working within SAP software application

Support the coordination and management of the U.S. transportation and logistics related activities for the Terumo organization. Monitor and assist with the execution of the Terumo US regional transportation strategy, to improve network optimization and management of service providers. Assist the Transportation Manager with supporting the Terumo NA and global logistics and transportation. Direct responsibility for assisting with the coordination and management of all transportation operations and ensuring compliance with all freight management rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

1. Prepare transportation data analysis and cost research modeling
2. Support carrier transportation networks monitoring and route optimization studies
3. Development and monitoring of transportation performance and financial metrics
4. Provide transportation recommendations based off mode-mix, carrier network routing data and research
5. Conducting financial and variance analysis for expenses, services, and quality
6. Transportation cost and benefit analysis
7. Freight invoicing, auditing, and billing support

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Experience in working with transportation and logistics teams.Good communication and collaboration skills.Skills, knowledge and ability to assist the management team with the planning, execution, coordination and troubleshooting of transportation, logistics and supply chain related projects, initiatives, tasks, and issues.Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, processes, networks and technology.Strong knowledge and understanding of transportation modeling, analytical and decision-making tools to monitor carrier performance and organizational priorities.Skills, knowledge and ability to support the sourcing, procurement and contract negotiations for transportation and logistics services.Ability and skills to support complex transportation and logistics tasks, projects and initiatives needed to support the priorities of the organization. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support operational, tactical and strategic level initiatives.
Background Experiences Bachelor's degree in logistics, business management, engineering, or related field.At least 6 years' experience as a transportation analyst in a similar industry.Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics.Experience working with union contracts and transportation-related government regulations.

Summary

This role is responsible for common carrier payment and performance. The ideal candidate will have a background in both freight audit & payment as well as driving common carrier performance.

Core Responsibilities
Provides key Transportation analysis for all segments of Owens & Minor TransportationDevelops continuous improvement strategies Leads Downstream P&HS freight audit and payment function Manages Downstream freight audit vendor relationships Ensures all carriers are paid timely and accurately Contributes to financial forecasts and yearly budget Key participant in carrier relationship management Drives carrier accountability through the development of monthly/quarterly metrics Partners with Finance Team to lead common carrier financial analysis Drives common carrier performance metrics and creates views to publish to reporting tools (PowerBI, etc.) Key member in the carrier QBR process Participates in RFPs for new technology (TMS, etc.) Creates ad-hoc reporting as necessary

Qualifying Experience
3 years of related transportation experience BS degree in Logistics or Analytics field is preferred Relevant industry experience will be considered instead of degree Microsoft Excel or similar database/analytics experience
