Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Responsible for the management and oversight of freight movements into and out of Cat Parts Clayton Inbound Processing Center (IPC) and Distribution Center (DC) warehouse:· Interface with suppliers, facilities, dealers and internal and external transportation partners to facilitate the movement of freight· Manage daily activities i.e trailer pools, OTP, OTD, as it relates to transportation carriers and service providers· Manage operational relationships with transportation carriers and service providers· Manage transportation carrier performance metrics for all movements including international shipments ie Dray to/from MWCCD· Provide transportation carrier updates and RCCA's to internal customer facilities and dealers· Manage jockey service performance metrics and associated yard management process· Manage Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process for all transportation lanes Work closely with the Global Transportation team (ILS), GMM, Cat Parts Velocity, Cat Parts Operations organization to develop sustainable transportation solutions for the Clayton IPC and DC facilities yielding significant value in the form of velocity improvements and cost reductions:· Identify and recommend opportunities for transportation network improvements· Point of contact for lane requirements and lane bids with Transportation Procurement· Lead and/or participate in Transportation and Cat Parts 6 Sigma projects as a Green Belt or Subject Matter Expert· Work with the Global Transportation team to replicate best practices and standardize transportation processes using CPS methodology· Participate and take leadership role in value stream activities or Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW) as needed Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related degree; in lieu of degree, 5+ years of equivalent work experience2+ years of relevant operational transportation experience In depth data analysis knowledge/experience (e.g. Excel, pivot tables) Top Candidates will also have:Proven track record of developing, implementing, and controlling process improvement solutions Excellent presentation and communication skills Experience working with import/export freight movement and subsequent documentation Previous experience managing carrier relationships and regulations Previous experience interfacing with Caterpillar suppliers/dealers Previous experience with Transportation Manager (TM) Previous experience working within SAP software application
