Responsible for checking all truck fluid levels and making sure the truck lamps are clean and in working order. The Truck Driver is responsible to make sure the truck is safe for highway traffic.
Maintain the truck and truck loading and unloading area in a clean and satisfactory manner.
Operates and performs routine maintenance checks for assigned mobile equipment.
May operate gasoline; liquefied gas or electric powered industrial forklifts and factory pickup trucks. Must fulfill all safety requirements and training for this equipment.
May perform routine preventative maintenance and record keeping for mobile equipment which includes the following.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or a GED certificate is required.

Over the Road (OTR) drivers can expect to pick up & deliver freight in multiple locations throughout the lower 48 states with the possibility of trucking through some Canadian provinces as well. Hazmat and Passport endorsements are strongly encouraged but not a requirement. OTR drivers can expect to be on the road for an average of 10-14 days at a time.

MAJOR DUTIES:
Transport and deliver freight regionally or over the road covering long distances in a safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.

Hook and unhook trailers; secure freight; install and remove tire chains as required by weather, tarp, and un-tarp freight if operating flatbeds.
Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.

Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to appropriate company personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Commercial Driver's License
6 months previous tractor/trailer driving experience (Under 6 months will require extended training)
Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT and pass required drug/alcohol test
Acceptable background investigation results.
Must be over the age of 21 and able to legally cross state lines while driving a commercial motor vehicle.
