Acara Solutions is looking for Transportation Planner - Logistics for our Client located in Hartsville, SC

Be actively involved in resolving service issues, supporting the business units' requirements, and participation in division planning sessions.

Plan, tender, and monitor (tracking and tracing) carrier shipments via TMS in accordance with department policy/procedure.

Work with other logistics functions to ensure the right carriers and the right capacity established on assigned lanes.
Be able to extract and manipulate data from the TMS or other platforms for financial analysis. Develop/build reports from complex data sets for analysis and recommend actions. Meet productivity and customer service level targets. Manage carrier performance to ensure performance is at or above target KPI's. Be able to balance the cost/service relationship, be an excellent communicator, and be able to manage multiple tasks at one time. Coordinates the resolution of service complaints including through root cause analysis and developing corrective actions to prevent future service failures. Cross train on other areas to help cover department resources appropriately as assigned by Manager. Work closely with division stakeholders to drive cost effectiveness through problem solving and process improvement. Other duties as assigned.
Pay and Benefits:
The Salary for this position is $15.00 per hour (Max Pay rate).


Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics or SC or Finance Minimum of 2 years' experience in transportation industry or logistics

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Experience with TMS needed with OTM.
Advanced knowledge and high proficiency using PC based applications. Verbal and written communication skills. Above average skills in Microsoft Suite needed. Analytical abilities.

This position requires a detailed-oriented planner who will both manage and run a range of public sector, MPO, and DOT transportation projects as well as actively engage our client base for new projects spanning transportation planning, active transportation, special area plans, capital improvements programming, roadway impact fees, traffic analyses, fiscal impact, codes and ordinances. Candidate must be well-organized, have project management experience, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:


Work in a collaborative environment as part of a multi-discipline team. Self directed supervision of project technicians and other planners when performing project tasks. Act as a project manager and planner on a project team responsible for a variety of tasks including research, analysis, documentation, meeting preparation, and day-to-day client interface. Demonstrate ability to produce well-written reports and highly visual documents. Support the planning team in public meeting facilitation and City Council meetings. Manage personal timeliness and technical correctness of a project to ensure high-quality work that fits within a client's budget and expectations. Be willing to travel as needed to meet project commitments. Identify, cultivate, and develop project pursuits and specific proposal submittals for public sector clients.



Qualifications



Required Skills and Qualifications:


Minimum Experience - 4+ years of transportation planning-related work experience with strong understanding of public sector, MPO and/or DOT client base. Private sector experience a plus. Minimum Education - Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Traffic Engineering, Urban Design, or related planning field required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. GIS Mapping and database skills desired. Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:


Master's degree in Transportation Planning. Prior work with or in consulting firm or a municipal/transportation agency planning department desirable. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) candidate.
