Freese and Nichols is searching for a Transportation Engineer to join our Lubbock, Texas office. You will serve as a design engineer supporting projects related to transportation. Perform calculations and analyses necessary to complete assigned projects. * Oversee and review the work of CAD technicians/designers, entry-level engineers and interns * Complete intermediate design activities that meet requirements of established criteria and applicable design manuals * Provide design control on assigned tasks within established design guidelines and under supervisor's review to ensure the timely and accurate completion of design plans, specifications reports and studies. * Conduct investigations, gather data, and prepare supporting documentation and final format of assigned tasks for studies and reports. General Description Performs all activities required to safely drive a passenger vehicle transporting students and other authorized personnel to and from schools and school-related events. Tasks performed may vary but are specific and routine based on the hours worked. Work performed is done under supervision; judgment is required. Performs related duties as required or assigned. Essential Job Functions Provides safe transport of students on an assigned route according to a definite time schedule, which may require driving during pre-daylight and dusk periods. Performs vehicle pre-trip inspections, including but not limited to, fuel, oil, water, lights, brakes, and steering. Operates vehicles in compliance with all traffic and safety laws and regulations. JOB TYPE Classification: Nonexempt Supervises Positions: No JOB SUMMARY Assist Medical Imaging and other hospital departments with safe transport of patients and other items as needed. Provides basic patient care duties as needed. Works assigned scheduled shift - including overtime, holidays, weekends, and evenings. Some of the major job functions include, but are not limited to: Greets and provides assistance to misguided or lost visitors. Answers cell phone or carries pager. Adheres to hospital and departmental policies. Assists in training and orientation of other employees. Perform other duties as requested. Transports equipment, supplies or other patient related items as needed. Routinely clean equipment and identifies equipment in need of repair. Patient Care: Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department. Explains the procedure and post-procedure orders to the patient to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety. Prioritizes workflow in regard to patient condition and ensures patients' arrival and departure occur in a timely manner. Provides an atmosphere conducive to gain the patient's cooperation and confidence. Utilizes data received from patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities to improve and participates in the planning and improvement process. Compliance: Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required. Cleans examination surfaces between patients. Provides clean linen including sheets, gowns, pillowcases, and towels. Immediately cleans spills following universal precautions. Properly stores accessory equipment when not in use. Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals. Shares and initiates regular and professional communication with co-workers. Facilitates and participates in regular staff meetings. Technical Competency: Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images. Maintains sterile equipment and fields. Adjusts cameras to obtain the proper density and contrast. Performs any necessary warm-up and quality control procedures on the equipment. Uses protocols to obtain images of internal structures. Critiques images for quality and makes necessary judgments to determine if repeat is necessary. The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Previous experience in a patient care setting or EMT preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: N/A Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with health care workers and patients. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Must be able to work as a “team player” with medical staff, nursing staff, MI staff, patients, and visitors.
