Job description
Welder II will be qualified on all processes and in all positions for the different processes and on a vast array of material including P1, P8, P10H and nickel alloys. Master welder will be capable and willing to perform all task, without backlash, and in a timely manner, including welding root passes, back gouging, cleanup of back gouge roots, tube to tube joints, tube to tube sheet joints not including QW-193, structural welds, and other pressure retaining welds used in the fabrication of equipment for our customers. Welder II MUST be able to interpret and follow welding procedures.
Responsibilities:
Select and safely use appropriate equipment suitable for work being performed.
Perform all tasks related to welding.
Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and properly stored or kept.
Communicate with leadership all aspects and phases (safety, productivity, and quality) of work.
Check completed work prior to final welding to ensure conformity to specifications.

The Construction & Maintenance Department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the Company's natural gas distribution system.
The successful candidate must fully demonstrate specified welding competencies within twelve (12) months of acceptance of the position and is subject to periodic competency testing.
What you will do:
Performs stick welding on steel natural gas lines, including downhill welds using 6010 and 7010 welding rods and uphill welds using 7018 hot rods.
Performs various construction and maintenance activities the majority of the time.
Installs pressure control fittings.
Completes steel main tie-ins, installing steel services and repair fittings.
Installs stations, farm taps and meter sets.
Performs natural gas leak investigation and detection and all installation and repair procedures of damaged service lines and plastic mains.

Operator Qualifications involve written guidelines and requirements natural gas employees must follow to ensure the safe and responsible operation of natural gas pipelines. Required, annual Operator Qualification testing involves both written and hands-on components to ensure those who perform covered, safety-sensitive tasks on the natural gas system are trained, knowledgeable, and qualified.
This position reports to our North Durham Operations Center located in Durham, North Carolina.
This position has two levels (Welder-Trainee and Welder A) which allows for progression over time.
Who You Are:

Summary:
We have an opening for a Welder position who will need to be diversified and also take care of other pipeline responsibilities. This position will support all pipeline operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Knowledgeable of industry related safety practices and use of safety equipment, including fire suppression equipment, personal protective equipment, safety guards etc.

This role is akin to being a Captain on a team in team sports, meaning, the Captain is also one of the players, and is in the game with their team. This role involves Stick and Tig Welding and Fabrication, with and without blueprints. This role also will be cross trained with our Hydro Blast team, undertaking in situ High Pressure (HP) Hydro Blasting and Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) Hydro blasting utilizing patented Tube Tech robotics and equipment. The position requires 75% travel, including international travel and must be able to work in Oil and Gas facilities.
General Purpose of the Position:
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality programs and policies. Responsible for and actively manages IGS field services personnel and communications with clients while building and maintaining interpersonal relationships. Serves as a specialized resource within Hot-Tek/Tube tech (Americas) field services personnel, possessing and implementing unique skills or knowledge to support Hot-tek/Tube tech applications in specific client facilities or using specialized Hot-Tek/Tube tech equipment. Support customer relations and communication, scope and quality management, demobilization, and post project review for Hot Tek and Tube Tech projects from a site location within the quoted time and budget. Understand IGS product and service offerings and how they relate to solving client problems for customer equipment and processes; support growth of strong customer relationships.
Provides feedback to IGS management team for safety, quality and technical training needs. Supports IGS strategic growth objectives through execution of quality projects that directly impact the scalability and efficacy of IGS. Works under the direction of the assigned Team Leaders and Project Manager while on the project. Acts as a liaison to the Team Leaders and Project Manager for specialized field of knowledge, identifying additional work and upsell opportunities based on industry experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Planning (in Collaboration with the Operations Manager):
Communicate resource requirements
Oversees travel, lodging and other personnel logistics or aids Team Leaders and/or Project Managers as needed

Use variety of equipment and welding processes. This may include, but is not limited to Arc, Hardfacing, Brazing and Tacking.
Weld and hardface components on weld positioner.
Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with to ensure conformance with specifications.
Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
Weld separately or in combination, using hardfacing powders, rods, and other alloys.
Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to specifications.
Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Welding Preparation: Obtains specified electrode, based on criteria of raw goods being welded; inserts electrode into rod holder or feed wire "consumable" through welding gun. Attach ground clamp from welding machine to work piece, to dial in the adequate amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, to known standards. Start engine driven welding machine / electric welding machine to produce desired amps. Scratch start arc to generate heat to produce a molten puddle depositing filler metal from electrode to work piece; to join edges of work piece. Preheats work piece with hand torch or heating furnace where applicable. Positions and clamps work pieces together to assemble them on a jig or fixture. Tacks / welds assemblies together.
Welding: Manually guides electrode or gun along beveled or fillet edge, maintaining length of arc and speed, to form specified depth of fusion, width, and convex of weld on welded fixture, visually judged by color of base metal i.e. stainless, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions on plate.
Post Welding Duties: Cleans slag of weld joint. Visually examines weld on i.e. bead size, bead crown convex/concave, porosity, and undercut according to AWS welding specifications. Repairs out of code equipment/raw goods, i.e. broken, cracked parts and fills cavity. Prepares parts for non-destructive testing (NDT); chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Vessel Welder Look Like?
Understand and follow safety policies and procedures of the shop.
Conforms to shop quality practices and procedures.
Experience on Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) & Gouge to apply root pass.
Set up components and weld metal parts together, using both gas welding and any combination of arc welding processes.
Analyze defective equipment and identify appropriate defective equipment and inform supervisor.
Weld metal components together to fabricate products according to engineering drawings or work orders.
Ability to manipulate heat during the welding process to maintain nozzles & couplings to the right level and degrees.
Ability to know how to adjust min/ max tolerance gaps to start the welding process to maintain the welded components within tolerance.
Ability to make a full penetration on nozzle to shell that doesn't require back weld by welding specification.
Practices good housekeeping skills and properly disposes of metal wastes according to safety and environmental policies.
Other duties as assigned by the Foreman.
Skills (to Pay the Bills)

Ability to follow shop procedures, quality procedures and safely practices.
Must have verbal skills with fluency for the responsibilities assigned.
Two to four years of experience in welding fabrication of vessels.
Must be able to read and follow welding procedures.
Must be able to perform 6G, 6” and 2” 45 degrees weld test.
Must be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of professional and technical associations.

Work Schedule
Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.

Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for a certified welder for welding and assembly/fabrication of Headworks products for the water industry.
Essential Job Functions
Performs MIG or TIG welding duties
Welds steel and stainless steel fabricated parts consistent with Headworks standards and specifications.
Records all time on the appropriate job orders at a high degree of accuracy.
Performs all job duties at a high level of efficiency and with minimal rework.
Works safely and accident-free along with aiding co-workers to engage in safe work habits.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proficient at MIG and or TIG welding processes.
Must have 3+ years TIG/MIG welding (including using a turntable) of Pipe and structural components.
Has passed at least one of HWI's approved AWS D1.6 welding qualification tests and understands fabrication drawings.
Able to read drawings, weld notations, and fabricate parts to specification.
Team player interested in a long-term position in an industry not subject to recessions.

Location: Fort Worth, TX
Job Description: Manages the torch and gases used to solder PDC cutters into bit bodies according to bit and quality documentation in an efficient manner.
Responsibilities include:
Remove cutters from damaged area.
Use TIG process to rebuild the bit.
Check gage size to determine if rebuild is needed.
Prep pocket and polish blades.
Ensure work area and shop is clean and safe.
Perform other tasks as instructed by bit documentation.
Follow all safety and quality policies.
Perform other shop duties as required.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Good physical ability, finger dexterity and visual acuity.
Able to operate an acetylene and oxygen torch.
Able to operate typical shop tooling and hoists.
Able to bend, stoop, sit, and walk.
Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work overtime is a plus.
