    Applying for the Job

Tips for Putting Your Best Foot Forward

The purpose of the hiring process at TransUnion is to figure out if you'd fit in well there, and if TransUnion will be right for you as well. During the interview, you should expect to discuss your qualifications, career goals and whether or not the role at hand is something you're really interested in. Throughout the hiring process you should expect:

  • Timely Communication - if your qualifications meet their standards, expect to hear from them right away. They will stay in constant communication with you throughout the hiring process.
  • Future Consideration - even if you don't meet their current needs, they will keep your application on file to review when a future opportunity becomes available.
  • Realistic Job Preview - they will be upfront with you about the position you've applied for
  • Fairness - will treat you fairly throughout the hiring process
  • Positive Candidate Experience - they will respect you during the process
  • Positive Onboarding Experience - making sure you have the tools you need to be successful from Day 1.
  • A few of the TransUnion employees advise to make eye contact, speak clearly and show that you're interested in the position. You should ask questions, too. Don't let the interview be one-sided. Remember, you're trying to decide if TransUnion is a good fit for you too. When you're answering questions, answers that are detailed and personal to you (not generic) will be received better. And make sure you know what TransUnion does. Take a look at their social media accounts and glance over their website.

    Health Conscientious

    A Force For Good

The company's most important asset are the associates who make up TransUnion. So providing them amazing benefits along with a work/life balance is important to the company because that's where the motto of being "A Force For Good" starts.

The open and collaborative office space at TransUnion is off-the-hook with three sweet game rooms, walking and biking work stations, ergonomic desks and chairs, candy jars on every floor, colorful huddle rooms, a gym and onsite cafe with health conscientious options. So if you need to take a walk while on a conference visit the walking workstation. Then afterward hit the massage chair. If you decide to sit all day, why not join one of the free instructor-led fitness classes at the on-site gym?

In addition to the crazy long list of health benefits, the company hosts regular picnics and events for employees to be able to hang out outside of work. TransUnion offers a generous parental paid leave option, as well as adoption assistance. Employees enjoy paid volunteer time off and the company will match any contribution you make to a charitable organization. And of course, the usual benefits of PTO, insurance options and retirement plans.

    Best Place to Work

TransUnion was named one of BuiltIn Chicago's Best Places to Work in 2019 for its commitment to health and wellness, financial planning and stability, providing a flexible and diverse work environment, professional and social impact, and perks/discounts.

The company was the award winner of the Illinois Technology Association 2018 Outstanding Company Culture award for the company's commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, and positively impacting the community.

In 2018, TransUnion was named one of the top 100 best adoption-friendly workplaces by the Dave Thomas Foundation for making adoption a supported option for every parent who works at TransUnion.
