As a Sales Travel Consultant in a customer facing retail store, you will help to plan, book and coordinate your customer's next amazing travel experience. Please note our Flight Centre Maryborough store will be opening in early November! Initially, the store will open 2 days per week. This position would however be full time with the remainder of your week working from our Flight Centre Bay Central store.

You will be:

* Using your travel experience to sell the products and destinations you love

* Delivering exceptional service in order to sell flights, accommodation, cruises, tours and related travel products in person, over the phone and via email

* Preparing and issuing invoices, receipt payments and maintain financial documents

* Keeping a finger on the pulse of the latest travel regulations and government restrictions

* Working towards nationally recognised qualifications (Cert 3 & 4 in Travel)

ADTRAV Travel Management is currently hiring for an VIP Travel Consultant position.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Detail oriented, well organized and have excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.

• Good use of the English language and grammar skills are paramount.

• Ability to manage time wisely and work independently.

• Strong level of customer service both internally and externally.

• Adaptability to engage in the company and build relationships.

• Ability to multi-task and work independently within a fast-paced, high maintenance environment.

• Knowledge of computer system Sabre GDS.

• Attention to detail with accuracy and thoroughness.

• Ability to work both independently and with a team.

• Demonstrate proactive behavior and engage client beyond transactional level.

• Exhibit sound and accurate judgment while identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.

• Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Must be willing to work all varying shifts from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. CST, as well as extended hours and weekends as necessary and directed by management.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient with city, airline, hotel and car rental codes.

• Familiarity with the Washington/NY/Boston airline shuttle.

• Ability to weigh cost benefits and recommend alternate travel options to traveler within corporate policy.

• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.

• Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service, internally and externally.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to demonstrate professional conduct at all times.

• Excellent computer and typing skills, which includes the ability to navigate between programs quickly by using shortcut keys.

• Ability to identify a problem and see it through to resolution with minimal supervision.

• Familiarity with reporting, specifically hotel reporting and hotel rates.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a corporate travel environment.

Physical Requirements:

This position is sedentary in nature, which requires very little to no lifting, pushing, and pulling. The primary functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods without leaving the work area is required.
