Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (required for Texas healthcare jobs)
BLS certification (required)
NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
ACLS certification (preferred)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Compliance with hospital dress code (navy scrubs; no hoop nose piercings)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care on a 30-bed neuro medical/surgical unit
Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry and neurological checks
Perform and document nursing procedures: stroke NIH assessments, EEGs, gastric decompression, wound care
Collaborate with physicians, LVNs, PCTs, and allied healthcare professionals
Utilize advanced clinical equipment: Welch Allyn Vital Sign monitors, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, Teleneuro
Maintain accurate patient records using Meditech EMR
Participate in ongoing nursing education and unit meetings
Uphold hospital policies and contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment
