    Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) The Medical-Surgical RN is a skilled and compassionate nursing professional responsible for delivering comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions and surgical needs. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Med-Surg RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and health histories Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and changes in condition Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound care, pain management, and mobility support Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards Respond promptly to emergencies such as rapid deterioration, falls, or code situations Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality Minimum Requirements Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; Med-Surg experience preferred Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable) Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred) TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation) Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations Successful completion of new hire orientation and Med-Surg training Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations Strong communication skills and proficiency in English Basic computer literacy Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we recognize that our nurses are the heart of our mission.
