Overview TRC is currently seeking experienced Assistant Structures Representative in the Bay area. The Assistant Structure Representative is responsible for the technical and administrative control of the structure elements of a locally administered project. Responsibilities * Ensure compliance with the construction contract requirements and shop drawing prepared by contractor. * Verify field dimension including vertical and horizontal field control for structures. * Ability to review submittals including shop drawings, product data, samples, test samples, QA plans submitted by the contractor. * Verify compliance with applicable regulations controlling work including CAL/OSHA and SWPPP. * Inspects construction progress which may include ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications; observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship. * Prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations for review by team leaders prior to submission to clients concerning the structures. * Ensure conformance with standards, established engineering practices, applicable codes and technical adequacy of design and construction. * General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries will also be expected. * Performing calculations for acceptance of temporary structures as used in construction of bridges and structures including falsework, temporary shoring, working platforms, temporary supports. Qualifications * Associate degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required. * Also requires typically 3 years or more of related experience on structures construction projects. * Experience with bridge deck rehabilitation methods, retaining walls, concrete and steel bridge construction and bridge maintenance and retrofits is essential for this role. * Experience on Caltrans structures projects is preferred. * Well-defined knowledge of construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods, and techniques. * Well-defined knowledge of relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. * Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience. Overview TRC is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Consultant/Subject Matter Expert in the West Coast Region to report to one of our NorCal, SoCal, Denver or Seattle offices. The position requires a strong technical safety service background, project management skills and experience, a solid reputation for building and maintaining key client relationships and a strong interest in business development. The position will also focus on providing health and safety compliance consulting and helping clients to improve their performance to their applicable health and safety goals and objectives. This position will support our national platform to deliver Safety Compliance Programs and Performance Improvement Services. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS * The individual will be responsible for overall management and direct supervision, including fieldwork, of all types of archaeological field and historic preservation projects, ranging from small local surveys through large, multi-year energy projects, marketing, proposal development, client coordination, regulatory and tribal consultation. * Assist with implementation of budgets, research designs, work plans, schedules, analyses and reporting. * The Senior Archaeologist will work closely with other cultural resources and environmental staff in TRC's Planning, Permitting, and Licensing practice. * The candidate will have the potential to bring in new work and possess solid relationships with the SHPO, THPOs, and other Federal, State, and Municipal Government archaeological staff in California and across the west in general. Qualifications * Graduate degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) in anthropology, archaeology, architectural history, or historic preservation. * 10 or more years' experience of progressive experience in the archaeology and/or architectural history of California and the surrounding region. * Knowledge of state and federal regulations, environmental review processes, and compliance requirements (e.g., Section 106 and California Environmental Quality Act - CEQA); * SPECIFIC PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS for state and federal lands (ARPA and Fieldwork Authorization permits). * Meet the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualifications for Archaeology, History, Architectural History, or Historic Architecture. * Previous project experience working on federal (e.g., BLM, USFS, NPS, ACOE, BIA) and state lands (e.g., California State Parks). * Regional experience that would allow for immediate permitting with the local offices of federal agencies (e.g., BLM, USFS, BOR, etc.) and obtaining other permits as needed. * Previous experience in following states is preferable: CA, OR, WA, NV, AZ. * Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, peer-reviewing, public speaking. * Excellent interpersonal and management skills. * Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with a track record of meeting deadlines and budgets and producing high quality reports. * A commitment to safety. * Familiarity with digital data recordation and management. * A valid driver's license with a clean driving record; and * Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
