Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Research Epidemiological Modeler will have the opportunity to work across a variety of data types and research objectives in development of robust computational models of disease evolution and patterns of disease transmission. Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Develops models of pathogen transmission across space and time, assembly, and annotation of genomic and transcriptomic data.
• Responsible for the integration of molecular genotypic and phenotypic data with geospatial data.
• Responsible for the integration of epidemiolocal data into climate niche modeling.
• Develops bioinformatic models, and other duties as opportunities related to computational model development arise.
• Develops operational workflows, data curation and pipelines that may include the use of high-performance computing and may participate in design and analysis of field and molecular experiments.
• Participates in the preparation of technical reports, briefings, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications that demonstrate results to sponsors and stakeholders.
• Trains and mentors graduate and undergraduate student researchers in various research labs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: M.S. degree, in biochemistry, veterinary or agricultural pathology, epidemiology, bioinformatics, computer science or engineering, computational modeling or a related field.
Experience: 2 years' experience working in an epidemiological or spatial/computational modeling arena or related.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants with Ph.D.'s, or equivalent experience, are particularly encouraged to submit an application. The Extension Agent will identify and organize information regarding clientele needs and assess the relevance, significance and timeliness of identified needs in the consultation with the County Extension Coordinator; develop an annual plan of work and measurable goals in collaboration with appropriate statewide priority program group and the County Extension Coordinator that adequately address identified needs, determine priorities, levels of effort and scheduling to allow attainment of program goals; implement program plan; and evaluate program content, methods and activities for program effectiveness and impact. The Extension Agent will support the County Extension Coordinator and adjacent Extension Agents in the assigned area to assure programming responds to local needs and to participate in county data reporting, including accountability reports to stakeholders; demonstrate sensitivity to key social, economic and public issues; develop excellent relationships with educational, regulatory, and service organizations whose missions are relevant to the goals of Extension; and actively participate in local and state professional and civic organizations. Agent will also be expected to work in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Community Resource Development, and the 4-H Youth Development area.
The Extension Agent will support 4-H clubs in Neshoba County toward the achievement of increased participation and strengthened 4-H programs. The Extension Agent will identify, recruit, and train local volunteer leaders to enable them to effectively perform their duties while serving on committees, clubs and/or organizations. The Extension Agent will follow system and agency guidance to ensure participant safety in camps and programs for minors and work with others to ensure a safe environment for participants in camps/programs for minors. The Extension Agent will be expected to work in the community resource development area as it relates to 4-H. The Extension Agent will be expected to actively engage in Extension Coastal Region 4-H programs hosted in Neshoba County.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have an earned bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, or a field of study determined by Extension Administration to be closely related, from an accredited institution of higher learning. Applicant must maintain a valid driver's license.
You will be expected to establish and maintain your permanent residence in Neshoba County or closely adjacent Mississippi county within 6 months of employment unless otherwise approved by the Extension Director and the Neshoba County Board of Supervisors.

Job Description
The Student Client Specialist (SCS) is our front-line team members, serving as ambassadors and guides to entrepreneurs actively working on a startup company. Your primary role on our team will be managing a subset of our portfolio, helping to recruit and form new teams, as well as walking them through the VentureCatalyst™ program. Your main mission is to spend time working one-on-one with fellow student entrepreneurs helping them to identify the customer and market, convert business models and customer intel into an executable business plan, and finally launch and get through the exit goal of securing 18-months of operating runway. This position directly supports
Goal 1
of our 2021-2031 strategic plan and reports to the Director.
Expectation
This is a broad role with significant responsibility, high expectations, and considerable freedom. Your day-to-day activity will be often somewhat undefined and you must be a self-starter. While assigned to a specific team, you are expected to assist with all aspects of the CEO. Sometimes this includes seemingly mundane, yet necessary, tasks like cleaning workspaces, organizing files, and running errands. Other times it includes meeting and having lunch with actual billionaires. Our Student Client Specialists must handle both situations with enthusiastic professionalism. We are focused on driving team wins. Like team sports, we expect you to help us win the game, by working to the best of your abilities to help startups exit the program successfully.
Primary Responsibilities
Meet and assist startup company teams participating in VentureCatalyst™ program
Manage a portfolio of startup company teams and maintain regular contact and communication

Seek and identify resources available from the CEO and MSU helpful to startup companies
Greet office guests, answer questions, and direct to proper individuals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Extension Agent will identify and organize information regarding clientele needs and assess the relevance, significance of identified needs in the consultation with the County Extension Coordinator; develop an annual plan of work and measurable goals in collaboration with appropriate statewide priority program group and the County Extension Coordinator that adequately address identified needs, determine priorities, levels of effort and scheduling to allow attainment of program goals; implement program plan; and evaluate program content, methods and activities for program effectiveness and impact. The Extension Agent will support the County Extension Coordinator and adjacent Extension Agents in the assigned area to assure programming responds to local needs and to participate in county data reporting, including accountability reports to stakeholders; demonstrate sensitivity to key social, economic and public issues; develop excellent relationships with educational, regulatory, and service organizations whose missions are relevant to the goals of Extension; and actively participate in local and state professional and civic organizations.
The Extension Agent will support 4-H clubs in Stone County toward the achievement of increased participation and strengthened 4-H programs. The Extension Agent will identify, recruit, and train local volunteer leaders to enable them to effectively perform their duties while serving on committees, clubs and/or organizations. The Extension Agent will follow system and agency guidance to ensure participants safety in camps and programs for minors and work with others to ensure a safe environment for participants in camps/programs for minors. The Extension Agent will be expected to work in the community resource development area as it relates to 4-H. The Extension Agent will be expected to actively engage in Extension Coastal Region 4-H programs hosted in Stone County.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have an earned bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Youth Development, Family and Consumer Science, or a field of study determined by the Extension Service to be closely related, from an accredited institution of higher learning.
You will be expected to establish and maintain your permanent residence in Stone County or closely adjacent Mississippi county within six (6) months of employment unless otherwise approved by the Extension Director and the Stone County Board of Supervisors.
An offer of employment is also contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background screen.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with level of qualification.

Master of Science Degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Applicants should have the ability to work within a team environment, exhibit strong self-motivation, and be task-oriented. Experience with the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) will be expected. The applicant must have good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with faculty, Extension staff, clientele, and the general public.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
* No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
* Occasionally will be required to lift more than 50 pounds and stand or walk for long periods of time.

Job Description
The Student Client Specialist (SCS) is our front-line team members, serving as ambassadors and guides to entrepreneurs actively working on a startup company. Your primary role on our team will be managing a subset of our portfolio, helping to recruit and form new teams, as well as walking them through the VentureCatalyst™ program. Your main mission is to spend time working one-on-one with fellow student entrepreneurs helping them to identify the customer and market, convert business models and customer intel into an executable business plan, and finally launch and get through the exit goal of securing 18-months of operating runway. This position directly supports Goal 1 of our 2021-2031 strategic plan and reports to the Director.
Expectation
This is a broad role with significant responsibility, high expectations, and considerable freedom. Your day-to-day activity will be often somewhat undefined and you must be a self-starter. While assigned to a specific team, you are expected to assist with all aspects of the CEO. Sometimes this includes seemingly mundane, yet necessary, tasks like cleaning workspaces, organizing files, and running errands. Other times it includes meeting and having lunch with actual billionaires. Our Student Client Specialists must handle both situations with enthusiastic professionalism. We are focused on driving team wins. Like team sports, we expect you to help us win the game, by working to the best of your abilities to help startups exit the program successfully.
Primary Responsibilities
Meet and assist startup company teams participating in VentureCatalyst™ program
Manage a portfolio of startup company teams and maintain regular contact and communication
Coordinate external advisory board meetings and details from application through award
Advocate and promote the CEO via various activities, classroom visits, and other program promotion
Seek and identify resources available from the CEO and MSU helpful to startup companies
Greet office guests, answer questions, and direct to proper individuals
Track teams and students; enter into departmental CRM tool; regularly update
Assist with paperwork, answering telephones, filing correspondence, running errands on campus, stuffing envelopes, making copies, cleaning workspaces and researching topics online
Make suggestions on how to streamline processes or increase efficacy of program
Complete other duties as requested by professional staff
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled at Mississippi State University, majoring in a [technical] [business] discipline.
Maintains good academic standing with at least a 3.0 GPA
Preferred Qualifications
Currently working on a new startup or prior experience with a startup company
Work experience relating to market research, prototyping, financial analysis
Completion of the MGT 3323 Entrepreneurship course (grade B or higher)
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software
