Job Family Description
Operations personnel have overall responsibility for the execution of nuclear non-proliferation, defense programs, and environmental remediation mission activities, as well as the management and coordination of multi-functional areas. This includes Radiological, Maintenance, Engineering, Nuclear Criticality, Quality Assurance, Nuclear Material Control & Accountability, and Weapons Production activities. Operations personnel oversee the safe and efficient functioning of plant systems, equipment, and machinery in a nuclear setting. They monitor operational parameters, conduct routine inspections, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. They may respond to alarms, troubleshoot various issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain operational stability.
Discipline Description
Operations personnel perform direct production functions such as monitor and operate process systems, handle and manipulate nuclear materials, and ensure the safe and optimally efficient operation of facility systems and equipment. They conduct work via procedures and training and maintain area-specific qualifications. They monitor process instrumentation and respond to alarms. Operations personnel operate equipment such as forklifts, pumps, valves, cranes, instrumentation, and other auxiliary equipment. They perform rounds and continually assess to ensure facility systems are operating properly and are being maintained within required limits. They perform unique and highly complex tasks such as glovebox operations, control room operations, and crane production operations. They operate distributed control systems (DCS), monitor, and interpret DCS readings. They function in a variety of contingency roles such as emergency response functions in support of operations.
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Supervises operator activities and maintains sufficient supplies to support facility operations. Plans and coordinates work involving production and support groups (note: this position may function as the Shift Manager).
Ensures that facility activities are conducted in accordance with plant procedures and Technical Standards/Operating Requirements. Has the authority and obligation to shut down the facility or to direct any other action necessary to ensure the facility is in a safe condition. Approves the start of all maintenance, operations, construction, test and surveillance activities that affect the facility or its equipment. Ensures that operators are trained and qualified for their jobs and are physically fit to perform the work. Communicates with other support organizations to ensure operating activities are started and completed as scheduled. Performs initial investigations of abnormal events, including the removal from service of equipment and systems as necessary. Directs emergency operations and trains personnel in emergency activities. Performs periodic tours of the facility to observe activities and ensures they are being performed safely and in accordance with approved procedures. Identifies housekeeping and facility material condition deficiencies to the appropriate origination for corrective action. Acts as primary mentor for operators. Maintains logs and records of all operating events in accordance with facility operating procedures. Maintains accountability of special nuclear material (SNM) through inventories, safeguards, and security and records management. Ensures that operators review changes to operating procedures and plant modifications.

Job DescriptionSalary:
Primary Function: As a skilled tradesman, lays pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water lines. Responsible for performing any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or connect/seal pipe joints.
Responsibilities:
Use/Hold grade rods.
Cut pipes to required lengths. Cut metal components for installation.
Align and position pipes. Connect pipe and seal joints.
Cover pipe with earth or other materials. Spread sand, dirt or other loose materials onto surfaces.
Install or repair sanitary or stormwater concrete manhole structures and pipe systems.
Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools. Compact materials to create level bases.
Laying pipe 4-60 to grade.
Operate mechanized equipment such as backhoes and/or forklifts (forklifts require formal certification) to move materials from stockpiles to area of installation,
Operate mechanized equipment to backfill pipe trenches, such hand tamps and rollers.
Dig trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools. Work with trench boxes.
Rigging and signaling.
Performs additional assignments as directed by management or as required for successful project completion.
Adhere with M. B. Kahns Safety Program, OSHA guidelines and Company policies, procedures, and standards
Required Skills/Abilities:
A pipe layer must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

GENERAL SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the educational program of the school.
Assists the principal regularly and frequently of his observation of the educational environment of the school as well as the condition of the physical plant.
Exhibits leadership in student discipline.
Assists in evaluating the performance of teachers and staff.
Assists in providing a safe environment for students and school personnel.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Master's Degree, valid State Teaching Certificate in the area of elementary or secondary principal, and at least five (5) years as a classroom teacher.
Knowledge:
Knowledge in the development, planning, organization, implementation, and management of instructional programs and practices designed to meet educational objectives. Knowledge of the standards, regulations, and laws relating to educational activities. Strong knowledge of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, electronic file management, the internet, and reporting and presentation software. Knows how to keep abreast of changes in policy, standards, procedures, and regulations pertinent to the school.
Skills/Effort:
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with school and district staff. Ability to instruct others through explanation, demonstration and supervised practice, and/or make recommendations on the basis of technical disciplines. Ability to complete, process, and maintain all required records, reports, and other information.
Ability to develop and maintain effective communications with school district employees, immediate supervisor, media representatives, attorneys, and the general public. Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Advisory Engineer - Project Engineer to support ongoing operations in Aiken, SC. This position plays a vital role in advancing critical mission objectives within a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.

Responsibilities
DUTIES:
Initiate own technical programs and make recommendations to management on technical programs based on analysis of customer needs and technology trends, reach solutions to the most complex technical problems in field(s) of expertise and to influence solutions in neighboring disciplines.
Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources in the company and external resources, to resolve complex problems. Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and dicult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and is recognized as having expertise in a functional area of technical specialization.

Education Requirements
Typically an advance degree and experience - PhD degree and about 15 years experience.
MS degree and 17 years experience
BS degree and about 21 years experience.
Qualifications
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
Providing overall engineering and design direction, leadership, and management for
assigned projects and tasks.
Integrating engineering resources for assigned projects by assisting in establishing
design criteria, resource forecasts, schedules, and engineering tools for engineering
tasks.
Providing administrative guidance to leads and managers.
Responsibilities for overall management, scheduling, and priority of the tasks and
projects assigned.
Managing the administration, document control, project controls, and quality
engineering sections for all assigned projects through section supervisors.
Resolving conflicts between project direction and technical direction from the
functional managers.
Participating in department and site-wide programmatic issues resolution and
quality improvements.
Responsibilities for creating a team through requesting, evaluating, and developing
engineering expertise capable of achieving the objectives of the projects assigned.- Evaluating tasks of subcontractors to ensure design output meets project technical,
cost, and schedule objectives.
Establishing baselines for design activities for all assigned projects and engineering
work requests.
Recommending to project managers, subcontractor authorizations for new work
and changes to baselines.
Evaluating project cost and schedule variances and implement corrective actions.
Experience with EVMS tools.
Reviewing cost accounts for procurement of engineered materials.
Working with diverse teams to deliver results.
Establishing projects' scope of work including assuring that there are firm customer
requirements developed.
Must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering
work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven
surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders
to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing and environments where a
respirator is required.
Have the ability to produce quality documents with attention to detail
and meeting management defined expectations.
Must have the ability to coordinate, interface, and communicate with
management, engineering, facility, operations, quality assurance, and test personnel.
Have the ability to communicate clear, concise, and accurate reports,
evaluations, documents, procedures, reviews, comment resolutions, email, and oral
presentations.
Must have the ability to mentor junior team members and develop their
design knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years is preferred.
Previous DOE/NNSA work experience.
It is preferred that the candidate demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities.
Previous SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures are preferred.
Work Schedule
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. Client utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes Client holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
