Trex company history timeline

1996

Trex officially formed in 1996 through a corporate buyout of a Mobil Corporation division.

Kimberly was joined by Jeffrey Miller in 1996, and together, Kimberly and Jeff were able to combine and expand their industry knowledge and technology expertise.

1999

On April 7, 1999, Trex Company, Inc. acquired the limited liability company Trex Company, LLC, and organized the acquisition as its wholly owned subsidiary.

2000

In 2000, Kimberly and Jeff co-created and then launched a web-based membership and registration software called Registration123.

2002

In 2002, TREX was thrilled to partner with Medical Society Management, Inc. (MSM) to collaboratively provide full management solutions to non-profit medical societies.

2004

2004: Construction begins on a third manufacturing facility in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

2005

The Olive Branch plant, which was expected to serve markets in the South and Midwest, was slated for its grand opening in mid-2005.

2010

Many imitators of Trex emerged in the market, but in 2010, Trex came up with their “game-changer”: the development of the Trex Transcend decking.
