In the absence of the Dental Director, the Staff Dentist supervises the Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists. Knowledge of digital radiography preferred; recording patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the patient's dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided.     FINANCE DEPARTMENT - Johnston, RI Full-Time General Responsibility : The Staff Accountant is responsible to participate as an integral member of the finance team and works under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer. The Staff Accountant's primary responsibility is to provide accounting and budgetary support to a wide variety of programs within the agency. As a Community Action Agency, with a Federally Qualified Health Center, Head Start/Early Head Start, Employment and Training, Adult Education, Senior Services and Disabled Adults, FCCP, Housing and Food Assistance, HEZ, and a wide variety of other programs and services funded by various funding streams, including direct federal, state, local and private foundations, we are a multi-faceted and complex organization serving low-moderate income residents in Northern RI and Washington County, with its Main Office located in Johnston, RI. The Staff Accountant assists in maintaining all fiscal records for the agency and all of its programs in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAP) and funding source guidelines using a computerized accounting system (MIP), with generally accepted audit trails. Included in the duties are timely and accurate reporting, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, preparing adjustments, analyzing financial statements and budgeting. Specific Responsibilities : The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Prepares timely billing for reimbursement of expenditures and reports to the funding source with all required financial information by the deadlines as noted in the funding terms of the agreement ensuring agency adheres to all federal, state and local funding requirements. Prepares financial reports for a diverse array of programs as required by various funding sources and regulatory agencies. Program areas include but are not limited to Senior Services, Emergency Services, Job Training, Youth Programs, Energy, Weatherization, Health Center, and Head Start, Ensures reports are accurate and expenses are coded to the correct grant/contract, documentation is adequate, and all fiscal and grant guidelines are met. Perform grant closeout functions in a timely manner. Resolve aging accounts receivable issues. Assists with preparation of annual departmental budgets and/or individual grant budgets. Main point of contact to Program Directors as assigned for grant reporting. Update as needed the agency wide grant/contract listing and report due date schedule. Sets up and maintains complete electronic grant/contract file and notebook, making sure all information/documentation is there and filed correctly. Oversees the safeguarding of company assets and makes sure that accounting is in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (G.A.A.P) and other applicable funding terms and conditions. Assists with preparation for audits. Ensures compliance with fiscal policies and procedures and suggests updates as necessary. Notifies CFO of any unusual purchases and/or concerns. Supports the team to create accurate and timely monthly financial reports of all Tri-County Community Action Agency grants for the CEO, COO, and CFO for Board Meetings and Program Director utilization. Ensures reports are accurate and expenses are coded to the correct grant/contract, documentation is adequate, and all fiscal and grant guidelines are met. Maintains a method of verifying all grant/contract documentation has been received and reviewed. Reconciliation of multiple bank accounts.     Dental Hygienist - Several Openings Full-Time (40 Hours), Part-Time and Per Diem Hours Available General Responsibility: To perform dental measures designed to preserve teeth and prevent the spread of oral disease. To assess dental condition and needs of patient using screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting, and period-charting. Specific Responsibilities: Providing oral prophylaxis to remove calculus, accretions and stain from both supragingival and subgingival tooth surfaces by scaling and root planning; Providing oral health education, including oral cancer screening, teaching patients how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease; Applying pit and fissure sealants and topical fluoride treatments; Taking radiographs as directed by Dentist; Organizing, maintains and sets up treatment rooms, sterilization area and dental lab area on a daily basis; Setting up and breaks down the dental operatory before and after each use; Disinfecting and sterilizing of dental instruments, equipment, materials and supplies consistent with current infection control standards and Tri-County infection control policies and procedures; Maintaining and assuring function of all dental equipment including X-ray units, X-ray processor, autoclave, ultrasonic cleaner, etc; Disposing of and preparing "red bag waste" for pick up by waste removal company; Recording clinical charting in electronic dental record as directed by Dentist; Making accurate, legible, complete and signed entries in the patient's handwritten or electronic dental record in accordance with Tri-County policy and procedure; Protecting patient confidentiality at all times; Complying with all Tri-County policies and procedures; Participating in continuing education programs, including one (1) annual training program on compliance with OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, to satisfy the requirements of the RI State Board and the RI Dental Hygienists Association to maintain a RI Dental Hygiene license; Assisting Dentists and Dental Assistants as needed. Qualifications: Graduation from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and approved by the RI State Board; Ability to attend to multiple tasks at the same time and to prioritize assignments and responsibilities to ensure compliance with established deadlines and protocols; Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required; Effective oral communication skills in a second language welcomed. Special Qualifications: Certification as a Dental Hygienist; CPR/AED Certification at the healthcare provider level. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of dental hygiene techniques and procedures for all phases of general dentistry. The Dental Hygienist must be a patient educator and promoter of optimum, oral health. Basic computer skills a necessity, working knowledge of digital radiography and paperless charting preferred. Expanded function ability, such as placing antimicrobials and administering local anesthetic agents preferred. The ability to work well with children and adults from a wide diversity of social, ethnic and economic backgrounds is necessary. The Hygienist must be able to creatively work with other healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines to achieve maximal results for the Center's patient from a system of integrated primary health care. The position requires someone who has a comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care in outpatient settings; knowledge of the principles and practice of modern dentistry as related to public health organizations and community health programs; and current social and economic problems pertaining to public health and their impact on primary health care. Specific Responsibilities : Examining individuals requesting care, diagnosing their dental/oral conditions, prescribing and carrying out, or directing others in carrying out as appropriate the scope of service, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or referring individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines. Knowledge of digital radiography preferred; recording patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the patient's dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care or treatment provided. In addition the Staff Dentist shall complete referrals, collect data and other records or paper work as shall be required from time to time by the corporation.
