In 1968, Tri-County Technical Institute, the predecessor of Hocking College, opened in Nelsonville, Ohio.
Beginning in 1997, the college also operated a second campus at New Lexington, Ohio.
In 2005, 5,500 students enrolled in Hocking College.
In June 2011, Tri-County Technical College and the Anderson County Museum announced a new partnership to benefit both institutions and the Greater Anderson Area.
Five Decades of Distinction, published in 2012 in honor of the 50th anniversary of Tri-County Technical College.
The Anderson Campus held a dedication ceremony on February 28, 2014.
