General Summary
This position is responsible for providing overall administrative and technical direction for multiple projects and may direct several small and/or medium size projects through subordinate managers in a Region or Area.
Essential Job Accountabilities
* Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, subcontractors, and security.
* Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s) to make certain work is completed under budget and on schedule.
* Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions (hiring, transfers, wages, etc.), purchase requisitions, change requests, to ensure corporate/business unit objectives are met.
* Consult on union projects and assist in jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required, in order to protect Granite's interests.
* Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are followed to make certain we adhere to core values.
* Maintain official project log and documentation files in order to track project status.
* Analyze training needs and opportunities and work with OD Department to ensure needs are being met.
* Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Education
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, ConstructionManagement, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
Work Experience
* Minimum 10 years experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
* Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), company policies, procedures and standards; and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiation skills essential.
* Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required.
* Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), estimating and forecasting software.

General Summary
This position is responsible for efficiently managing all field resources for the business unit or large project (LP) between $100 million and $250 million, including providing overall direction and guidance to field superintendents and foremen, in collaboration with LP project engineers, constructionmanagers, and project managers.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Comprehend and administer a safety program that provides for a safe work environment that meets or exceeds Granite's Annual Incident Goal, and foster a culture that expects participation at all levels
Create and promote, in his/her organization, the ability to recognize and understand the appropriate environmental policies, rules, and the potential adverse effects to the environment due to operations, and take steps necessary to comply with policy/rules, and mitigate the effects of operations
Create and/or foster a quality culture that recognizes the effect of quality on all operations, and takes steps necessary to provide a product or service that is a source of pride for our workers, and pleasing to our customers
Oversee total project or business unit supervision effort to ensure appropriate personnel, budget and schedule are met.
Serve as senior technical advisor to all project or business unit supervision to assist in difficult start-up, construction or close out problems.
Authorize/approve all supervision personnel transactions (hiring, transfer, wages, etc.), in conjunction with appropriate project managers to ensure proper staffing.
Assist with jurisdictional disputes and negotiations as required on union projects to ensure project timelines are met.
Administer all company, department, technical policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance.
Interface with all work teams in business unit (including subcontractors) as required, to resolve problems, ensure quality, safety, scheduling and achieving schedules in support of overall project objectives.
Mentor construction craft, supervision and engineering staff to ensure individual development and Granite standards are met.
Assist in the development of supervision training programs to ensure future leaders are trained.
Provide expertise and technical knowledge to Region department heads to make sure Region strategic objectives are met.
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety, quality and environmental initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Participate in and/or lead project means and method planning, being a catalyst to drive creative thinking and innovative ideas that distinguishes a successful operation, developing and utilizing Work Plans to execute the results of the planning.
Education/Certification
BS degree in Civil Engineering, ConstructionManagement, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.
Completion and certification of USACE's 24-Hour EM 385-1-1 training and completed in the last five (5) years.
Work Experience
20+ years supervisory or equivalent construction experience.
Experience on at least two heavy civil design-build projects within the last 15 years, having a construction value of $10- million or more for each project.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); company policies, procedures and standards; and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiations essential.
Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.
Excellent management skills
Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
The Superintendent has to be onsite whenever any construction process is taking place.

General Summary

Education/Certification

Work Experience
* 20+ years supervisory or equivalent construction experience.
* Experience on at least two heavy civil design-build projects within the last 15 years, having a construction value of $10- million or more for each project.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
* Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); company policies, procedures and standards; and union jurisdiction, labor agreements, negotiations essential.
* Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.

Responsibilities Brasfield & Gorrie has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Dalls team. Work location may be in Dallas/Fort Worth, or on projects in various locations based out of Texas. * Solicit, review, and scope subcontractor and vendor bids, quotes, and related contract specification sections
* Administer subcontracts for area of responsibility (payments, insurance, bond, safety, haz-com, etc.)
* Review and understand contract documents (plan and specifications)
* Assist with project start up, including obtaining permits and licenses and managing jobsite mobilization
* Lead responsibility for project document management and project controls
* Assist in development, planning, and updating of overall project schedule
* Assist in development of project quality control plan implementation and compliance with contract requirements
* Lead subcontractor start up meetings
* Manage complete submittal process, including the following: obtain submittals; review submittals for compliance with contract documents; upon approval, manage submittal and procurement with subcontractors/vendors; track submittals with procurement schedule; develop complete submittal log
* Manage a portion of project scope, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and/or electrical
* Lead and facilitate project coordination meetings (MEP, skin, site utility/logistics, phasing plan, etc)
* Create and manage tracking logs, including concrete, rebar, and stone
* Meet with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ's) to understand inspection and compliance requirements
* Enter and update information in project management software (job status reports, projections, change orders, and RFI's)
* Mange LEED requirements, compliance, and documentation when applicable
* Resolve daily problems and expedite materials in conjunction with field supervision
* Support the project manager and project team with budgeting/actual committed report/labor report
* Provide accurate cost projections for area of responsibility
* Review and code invoices with project actual committed report
* Manage punch list and work with subcontractors to execute the punch list in accordance with project schedule
* Manage project closeout (closeout documents, final job report, and final accounting)

* Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field
