Michael Lopez has served as the Company’s COO since July 2013 bringing more than 25 years experience in multiple production environments managing key facilities of both global and start-up organizations. Prior to joining the company, Dr. Lopez was previously the Vice President of Operations at Ventus Medical leading manufacturing, supply chain, quality and regulatory functions in commercializing minimally invasive devices to address sleep-disordered breathing conditions including obstructive sleep apnea. Preceding Ventus, Dr. Lopez served as the Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations at InSound Medical where he led a broad organization in the very successful implementation of a cost-effective production process for a sophisticated hearing device. Before InSound, Dr. Lopez held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility within Albany International Corp, a global leader in advanced materials processing, Polaroid Corporation, and the US Navy’s fast attack nuclear powered submarine community. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, an M.B.A. from the University of Rhode Island, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University, and a Doctorate of Management from Case Western Reserve University.
