This position is responsible for activities relating to Independent Sales and Marketing, including Independent Marketing Organization (IMO) recruitment, sales, and quality control of the business and service which is critical to the growth and development of Independent Sales. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the recruiting and selection of quality IMOs and agents to Baltimore Life Play a leadership role regarding the overall focus on overall production and growth of the business Oversee and drive all projects, initiatives and support activities through weekly updates and progress reports regarding projects and activities to the VP Act as key liaison with strategic partners throughout the entire Baltimore Life organization to further develop synergies cross departmentally Present contingency plans, if needed, to keep production activities and deliverables on track Coordinate agent & IMO meetings, and company-sponsored travel (Advisory Boards, Leadership Trips, Conferences, etc) Travel to sales or industry conferences, IMO client locations, & Home Office Monitor all IMO and agents for potential concerns, problems and changes that could potentially impact sales activity, production and or the quality of that business Monitor distribution quality for sales consistency, business quality (Mortality, Persistency, Placement), diversification, market capacity, and industry developments and trends Monitor IMO performance and discipline, industry trends & developments, and customer satisfaction, market conduct, suitability and compliance Serve on and attend various committee meetings including Collaboration Week Responsible for reporting all situations, activities or trends that may impact the ISD business positively or negatively to VP of Distribution or any other affected team within the Baltimore Life organization Make day-to-day operational recommendations to further enhance the efficiency and performance of the division Represent ISD and report issues, complications and suggestions to Distribution leadership and other leaders throughout the Baltimore Life organization if directed Conduct virtual training for IMO agents as needed upon request Network with similar positioned leaders from other companies Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense management EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College degree preferably in Business Administration or Insurance or equivalent work experience Must have or be willing to obtain life license and FLMI Level 1 designation as part of a development plan Minimum of 5 years life or annuity insurance experience required SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of life insurance and annuity products and operations is required Comprehensive understanding of the independent sales channel including general knowledge of the industry as well as the marketing of life, annuity and wealth transfer products specific to Independent Marketing Organizations and their agents Strong analytic and problem-solving skills Strong leadership skills to further develop inter-departmental relationships within our company Ability to effectively multi-task and manage several projects, clients and initiatives concurrently Ability to clearly identify and report problems and effectively develop and execute solutions to those problems Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential Ability to effectively manage relationships, both external and internal effectively across all levels of organization. Responsible for preparing quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with statutory accounting principles and state, federal and NAIC regulations. Provide management with financial information and analysis. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements Prepare, maintain, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and year end checklist schedules Develop analysis of financial results to management Update and revise quarterly and annual statement systems and procedures Update and revise systems used for collecting and reporting information Determine proper accounting treatment of unusual financial events Keep updated on statutory reporting requirements Prepare entries for monthly reporting Assist Financial Reporting Manager with special projects Assist Financial Reporting Manager with reinsurance reconciliations Prepare and process corporate state filings Act as liaison for external auditors EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
