Identify potential operational or service concerns, notify appropriate co-workers and assist with resolving. * Prepare and assemble orders, pick and count material, move and load materials between operations or trucks; use labor or manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? * Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; Typically, at least five years of warehousing or related logistics experience. * Credentials: Forklift Certification typically required in most operations within 3 to 6 months of hire; Valid state issued driver's license preferred. * Skills: Ability to operate hand and power tools, including hand truck, pallet jack, and related warehouse equipment; Basic proficiency in Internet, web-based and job specific software applications; Ability to become forklift certified, when required. * Characteristics: Ability to prioritize and assign work and provide training and guidance to staff; Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs; Ability to perform in a team environment. Education and Experience: * High School Diploma or GED. * Minimum 6- months verifiable CDL Class A or B driving experience in industry and in the type of vehicle to be driven. * Minimum 5 years of industry driving experience may be substituted for a high school diploma or GED. * Some positions require experience with transporting fuel over the road and fueling locomotives as well as railroad industry experience. * Ability to read, speak, and understand English (As outlined in the Road Executive Order and stated in Federal law) Credentials: * Valid state issued Class A and B Driver's License issued by the driver's home state of residence. * Some positions require a Class B license. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Manage all station functions to ensure that all departments and station staff execute service agreements at, or above the customer's standards. Maximize profitability through superior customer service, effective and prompt communication and follow-up on all pending matters with the customer. Provide managers with daily guidance, leadership and overall support on any issues relating to operations, communication, human resources, revenue enhancement, standardizing procedures, and systems applications and executing processes to meet customer needs. Ensure that freight is being expedited in a safe and timely manner. Ensure that the station facility provides a clean, professional and safe working environment for all employees. Review analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine progress toward stated business development goals and objectives. Review and evaluate station P & L performance and establish short-term goals to address any budgetary shortfalls. Oversee business development, sales and marketing and new account development to ensure that maximum transportation revenue is generated for the station. Develop and execute policies, plans and programs to meet anticipated organizational needs in the areas of functional responsibility and ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines, ISO standards, Sarbanes Oxley and other regulatory requirements. Ensure directives, rules and procedures are communicated to all station personnel. Ensure safety methods and programs are implemented and maintained. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience. Minimum 4 years industry experience, preferred. Credentials: Valid state issued Driver's License and Forklift Driver Certification. Other professional certifications may be required. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications supporting the supply chain or transportation industry as well as financial applications. Characteristics: Expertise in operations and business management. Experienced in providing leadership for multiple sites that are geographically dispersed, effectively delegating responsibility and authority to direct reports. Experienced in project management methodologies with focus on managing solution driven strategy plans to achieve goals. Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
