Sentara Leigh Hospital Intensive Care Unit, AACN Gold Beacon Award recipient, is comprised of 20 licensed critical care beds and has an average daily census of 18 patients. Staffing ratios vary and can be 1:1 to 1:3 with 1:2 being the usual assignment.
The ICU RN's are required to have a wide array of knowledge, skill and ability to competently and safely provide critical care to our patients. Frequent ongoing education, new skill acquisition and skill validation are provided and supported by an experienced ICU CNS for new and experienced ICU nurses. Newly hired RN's will have between 2-14 weeks of orientation depending on prior experience. Our preceptors are purposely selected for their teaching ability and formally trained to meet the training needs of new staff. Specific attention is provided for new graduate ICU RN's as they participate in our Vizient AACN Nurse Residency Program and AACN's essentials of Critical Care Orientation online education. Experienced RN's are encouraged and supported with educational and financial assistance to achieve critical care certification.
ICU staff are supported by an interdisciplinary care team which in part includes unit based respiratory, physical, speech and occupational therapists. Interpreter, nutrition, palliative, chaplaincy and ethical services are readily available as well. Our ICU has onsite and eICU pulmonary critical care intensivists and their team of physician extenders 24/7. Physician lead, nurse driven interdisciplinary rounds are held daily for continuity of care and to address nursing's concerns or questions. These rounds are made educational and even fun at times by our very engaged intensivist MD's.

Position Overview
The Information Security Analyst will be an integral part of delivering DHIN's services to the Delaware healthcare community and beyond. Specifically, this position will have a role in developing and implementing security measures to protect DHIN's computer networks and systems. This position will also manage security incidents, vulnerability remediation and provide feedback into the Continuous Service Improvement process so that DHIN continues to improve in all aspects of securing the services offered by DHIN.
DHIN continues to focus on implementing industry best practices as defined by the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL). After joining DHIN, all staff are required to pass the ITIL v4 Foundations certification exam. About the Role
This position will support the research programs in Department of Anesthesia and Neurology.
The Clinical Research Coordinator I will work independently providing study coordination including screening of research participants for protocol eligibility, presenting non-medical trial concepts and details, and participating in the informed consent process. The CRC I member is responsible for accurate and timely source documents, data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting including timely response to sponsor queries. This role is responsible for compiling and reporting on each study including information related to protocol activity, accrual data, workload, and other research information. The incumbent presents study information at research staff meeting. This position ensures compliance with all federal and local agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA and local Institutional Review Board.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling of research participants for research visits and procedures.
In collaboration with the physician and other medical personnel, documents thoroughly on Case Report Forms (CRFs) information about changes in research participant condition, adverse events, concomitant medication use, protocol compliance, and response to study drug.
Schedules and participates in monitoring and auditing activities.
Notifies direct supervisor about concerns regarding data quality and study conduct.
Works closely with a regulatory coordinator or directly with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to submit Adverse Events, Serious Adverse Events, protocol deviations, and Safety Letters following local and federal guidelines.
May perform other regulatory/Institutional Review Board duties, budgeting duties, and assisting with patient research billing and reconciliation.
Maintains research practices using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations and applicable law.
Participates in required training and education programs.
Coordinates training and education of other personnel.
Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Transportation of research medications.
Performs research study related assessments and questionnaires.
Assists with prescreening of research participants for various clinical trials.
Attends research meetings and monthly conference calls with sponsors for study updates.
Maintains organized paper and electronic research files.
Performs all data collection and data entry tasks for department clinical trials.
Assists with preparing manuscripts, letters, and other research documents as needed.
Responds to sponsor' inquiries regarding protocol start-up activities and recruitment.
Performs literature reviews.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED, required.
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Sociology, or related field is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
ACRP/SOCRA certification is preferred.
Experience:
1 year of clinical research experience, required.
