    Job Description Trinity Washington University Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Professions Salary Range: $160,000 to $180,000 Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation's capital, seeks a Dean for the School of Nursing and Health Professions (NHP). The Dean is the chief academic and administrative leader for the school, providing strategic vision, academic oversight, and operational management for a diverse portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs. Enrolling about 300 students, NHP includes undergraduate programs in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Public Health, and Social Work, as well as graduate programs in Counseling, Occupational Therapy, and Public Health. The Dean is responsible for fostering academic excellence, supporting faculty and student success, strengthening external partnerships, and advancing the Trinity's commitment to social justice, health equity, and community engagement. Reporting to the Provost and supervising a staff including 19 full-time faculty and 13 administrative staff as well as adjunct faculty as needed, the Dean is responsible to oversee the design and development of academic programs, ensuring that all programs meet accreditation and regulatory standards including CCNE, ACOTE, CACREP, CSWE and the D.C. Board of Nursing. The Dean leads faculty hiring and assessment along with faculty professional development. The Dean is responsible to manage the unit budget and to steward significant gifts and grants supporting the unit's programs and students. With the faculty, the Dean also builds and sustains strong partnership relationships for clinical placements and career pathways with healthcare systems, clinical agencies, community organizations and governmental partners throughout the Washington region. Candidates must present an earned doctorate in a field in which Trinity has a program including nursing, public health, counseling, occupational therapy, social work, or closely related health professions fields. Candidates should also present an academic track record that includes (a) experience as a faculty member in a related academic program, and (b) at least 3 years of successful experience as a dean or equivalent senior academic administrator, and (c) scholarly and professional achievements supporting appointment at the most senior level. Experience with interprofessional healthcare education is a plus. Along with the academic credentials, candidates should also present at least three years of clinical experience in one of the major fields in Trinity's curriculum. Experience with the healthcare systems in the Washington region is an advantage. Candidates must also have demonstrated success managing a diverse workforce to satisfy professional expectations and to achieve goals across all programs. Trinity Washington University is one of the nation's historic Catholic women's colleges, sustaining a commitment to women's education in the daytime liberal arts programs while also offering coeducational professional and graduate programs including those in NHP. Trinity enrolls about 2,000 students and is classified as a Predominantly Black/Hispanic Serving institution.     Certified Nurse Assistant Instructor - Adjunct Lecturer Salary: $1,375 per credit Trinity Washington University is seeking a dynamic CNA instructor to teach up to two of the following two spring 2026 sections for the Advanced Technical Center (ATC) Dual Enrollment High School Program within the College of Arts and Sciences. The Advanced Technical Center is a partnership with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education to provide DC high school students with the opportunity to complete dual enrollment pathways in health sciences. Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer in the School of Nursing and Health Professions, successful applicants will have the ability to teach didactic and/or clinical courses in our CNA program. The Spring Semester ATC classes start on January 20, 2026, ending May 8, 2026, and the following Lecture classes meet every day of the week for the semester. The adjunct instructor will teach these courses at the ATC's Penn Center, which is located at 1709 3 rd St NE. NURS 101/ATC 1, Certified Nursing Aide Lecture (3 credits): MTWTHF 8:25 - 9:45 AM NURS 101/ATC 2, Certified Nursing Aide Lecture/Lab (3 credits): MTWTHF 10:35 - 11:55 AM Qualifications: Successful candidates should have the following credentials: Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license for the District of Columbia An associate degree in nursing required. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred. Teaching experience in CNA programs preferred. Minimum of two-three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, and Current knowledge of nursing practice at the nursing assistant level. Job Responsibilities: Teaches assigned courses/clinicals. Provides classroom and course management in a manner that is consistent with professional conduct. Keeps regular office hours in accordance with the procedures designated by Trinity policy. Assists students outside of scheduled class times. Utilizes methods of instruction and teaching techniques that are appropriate to the fulfillment of course outcomes and objectives. Develops and maintains course outlines/calendars and makes them available to the students one week prior to the start of class. Maintains accurate class rosters (attendance reports) and submits same in the manner and at times required by the ATC. Maintain updates to gradebooks weekly. Attends adjunct meetings and workshops as scheduled. Participates in the adjunct evaluation process. Notifies Dean of any absences or alterations in the class schedule in advance and in writing, if possible. Reviews and recommends textbooks, reference materials, software, audio visual aids, and learning resources for classroom use. Maintains professional and technical knowledge through reading professional publications and attending workshops and conferences as appropriate. Has knowledge in working with students with disabilities and coordinating services.
