Provides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, routine and emergency service to general and various specialized diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment, as assigned by the Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the mission, vision and core values of Trinity Health and the Ministry Organization in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions. Performs PM procedures on multiple types of general and specialized clinical equipment. Performs PM procedures using manufacturer's recommendations, standards or code requirements, as well as industry acceptable processes as guidelines. Performs corrective maintenance procedures including diagnosing problems using thermodynamic, electronic/electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or other sciences and documents results of activities performed to comply with all regulatory and standard requirements. Notifies equipment users, CE Managers, and Regional Director of repair status and delays as necessary. Interacts with clinical staff to understand and resolve operational problems in scheduling and completing PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospital departments. Provides non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring for Neurology/Epilepsy patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), including computer set up, editing, and data mining. Responsible for the production of high quality neurodiagnostic tests needed to provide physicians with clinical data to aid in establishing a diagnosis. Communicates and works with Neurologists in a manner that improves patient care. QUALIFICATION Education Minimum Graduate of an accredited Electro neurodiagnostic Program (END) program or on the job training with a minimum of two years' experience. Preferred Graduate of an accredited Electro neurodiagnostic Program (END) with a minimum of an associate's degree and one-year electro neurodiagnostic experience. JOB STATUS: Full time, 80 hours every two weeks, Salaried, variable start and end times General Definition and Scope of Job The Registered Nurse First Assistant is an allied health professional, who is an integral part of the OR team providing surgical care to patients. They are responsible for the direct patient care of pediatric through geriatric patient populations. RNFA's address the cultural, psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. They utilize the nursing process in the perioperative setting and collaborate with other health care providers in a coordinated manner throughout the process of caring for the patient undergoing operative or other invasive procedures. Under the direction of the Surgeon, the primary responsibility of the RNFA is to carry out functions that assist the surgeon through out the surgical procedure, applying demonstrated knowledge of safe perioperative nursing practice, human anatomy, and surgical procedures assuring optimal outcomes for the patient. The RNFA participates in performance improvement activities for the department as well as the hospital as a whole. They possess a positive attitude and teamwork is essential.
