Trinity Medical Center company history timeline

1993

In 1993 Trinity Health became the first hospital in North Dakota to recruit and employ its own physicians.

1997

1997 The TMHD Board signed a Master Agreement with East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System (ETMC) to operate the Hospital as a general acute-care hospital and to continue services such as the Clinic then offered by the District.

1999

In 1999, Trinity began building a new heart center that would include two heart catheterization labs and a surgical suite.

At the request of the medical staff, in 1999 the Board agreed to change the name of Trinity Regional Hospital to Trinity Regional Medical Center, to reflect the organizations broader scope of services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

2000

In April 2000 the first Cardiac Catheterization Lab was opened with the surgical component opening in June of the same year.

2001

That assimilation was enhanced in 2001 with the purchase of UniMed Medical Center and associated facilities from Quorum Health Group, thus achieving a longtime goal in the community to consolidate Minot’s healthcare facilities.

2006

The need to expand to accomplish future growth and to enhance patient comfort and convenience were the driving forces behind the Board's decision in 2006 to invest $32 million in a new building addition.

2008

In November of 2008, the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home was opened to serve individuals with life-limiting illness.

2012

October 2012, after waiting more than two decades, Trinity Regional Medical Center opened its new Cancer Center, offering comprehensive care to cancer patients, including radiation therapy.

2013

On April 16, 2013, Trinity Health Systems' affiliate partner Iowa Health System change their name to UnityPoint Health.

Trinity Health was formed on May 1, 2013 by the coming together of two national Catholic health systems: Trinity Health and Catholic Health East.

2017

They had the clinic up and running on August 1, 2017 (the day after ETMC left); and seventeen clinic staff jobs were saved.

2019

The Clinic will be closed on January 17th and 18th and will reopen to patients on January 21, 2019.

Health-Point, a FQHC: In conjunction with CHI-St Luke’s, an agreement has been signed with Health-Point, a Federally Qualified Health Center, to begin operation of the Clinic on January 17, 2019.
