Shift: Day Shift The Clinic Coordinator is primarily responsible for consistently performing excellent patient relations/customer service, front office reception, scheduling, registration, medical record duties, revenue cycle reconciliation, and functioning as the focal communication source for assigned clinic area under the supervision of the Clinic Practice Manager. Works cooperatively to effectively execute and maintain organizational standards of patient care, referral process oversight, other expected aspects of professional ambulatory care service delivery, and organizational codes of conduct, confidentiality and privacy. Clinic Coordinator Roles & Responsibilities: Uses proper telephone and customer services etiquette when communicating with physicians, patients, visitors, internal and external customers. Manages faxes and incoming paperwork to assure that it gets to the proper person or place in a timely manner. Facilitates admissions from clinic by requesting bed for admission through McKesson, faxing admission orders to Bed Management and assisting nurse/ physician as needed. Assembles charts for staff, including pulling referral documents to add to chart. Provides patient with return appointments, prescriptions, copy of med list, physician orders, financial counseling program fact sheet. Registers and/or edits patient registration information to assure that demographic, clinical and insurance data are entered correctly and utilizes Passport for insurance verification as appropriate. Utilizes scheduling system to schedule patient appointment for clinic visits, diagnostic services, and ancillary services per departmental procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications: 1 year working in a Clinical setting required Proven skills in Scheduling and Data Entry High School Diploma (Equivalent) is Required Ability to register and verify patient information and Insurance Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to succeed in a fast-paced working environment About Nashville General Hospital Nashville General Hospital (NGH) is Nashville's original community- based hospital.
