Job Description CORT Furniture Rental is hiring immediately for full-time non-CDL drivers in Hayward, California! The Delivery Driver works collaboratively as part of the Operations team. You will be responsible for loading furniture and delivering safely to customers' homes or office spaces. You will also be assembling furniture for the customer and going above and beyond to ensure a positive customer experience. Pay: $23 - $26 / hour, dependent upon experience. This position is also eligible for CORT's Performance Sharing Plan (PSP) bonus plan. Schedule: Standard is Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:30pm; some flexibility or overtime may be required. Responsibilities Start your day at our warehouse where you'll meet to review your route, safety topics, and more with the operations team Drive a 26-foot box truck with a lift gate to customers' homes or offices Unload, deliver, and install furniture while interacting with customers Assist in the warehouse as needed; this may require loading and unloading furniture Qualifications A valid state driver's license and safe driving record. Minimum of 6 months of professional experience driving a 24-foot box truck or larger commercial vehicle required; 1 year of experience preferred Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner Ability to work overtime as needed Must be at least 21 years of age Must pass drug screening and MVR checks as a condition of employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Respond to calls dispatched to you in a safe, timely manner. Provide roadside assistance in a safe, professional manner that is free of accidents, injuries and damage. Communicate with dispatch in a professional, informative manner as it relates to information necessary to document your status in servicing a call as well as accurate ETA's when requested. Professionally and safely perform emergency road service duties as may be dispatched to you, such as, but not necessarily limited to: Perform damage free towing Perform minor roadside repairs, excluding highways Perform roadside towing of heavy duty vehicles such as 18-wheelers Garbage Trucks Dump Trucks Cement Trucks Perform accident towing and scene clean-up Daily inspects the truck for safety, organization and related equipment, tools, rigging inventory Complete and turn in pre-shift inspection prior to beginning duty each day Immediately reports tools or equipment damaged or missing; Safe driving behavior is a must.
