A Brief Overview
The CDL Driver II is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials to various job sites and other locations. This role requires maintaining a Class A or B Driver's license, inspecting and maintaining trucks, reporting shortages and claims to supervisors, and assisting in loading and storing of materials. Drivers must perform pre- and post-trip inspections, manage logs, and adhere to hours-of-service requirements. The CDL Driver II is typically a more experienced driver who may train new associates.
What you will do
Operates Class A commercial vehicles in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
Responsible for deliveries to both active construction sites and completed build locations; city-based deliveries and inter-state travel may be required.
Performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with federal regulations.
Provides exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor, addressing client needs, representing the company positively during all interactions, and relaying messages received from customers while on job sites.
Organizes and secures loads to ensure safe transport and verifies orders for accuracy before departure and upon delivery.
Adheres to all regulations and safety guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and complies with all regulations and conditions outlined in applicable permits.
Prepares and maintains accurate DOT-compliant logs of driving hours, on-duty time, and rest periods in accordance with federal regulations.
Delivers and unloads materials accurately and safely, ensuring customer satisfaction at the point of delivery.
Records all merchandise returned by truck and assists in unloading materials returned for credit, ensuring proper documentation and handling.
Safely and efficiently operates a truck-mounted forklift to load, unload, and transport materials at job sites.
Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the truck, ensuring it is well-kept and ready for operation.
Assist with stocking and organizing inventory in the warehouse and production areas.
Trains and mentors incoming drivers on company policies, safety procedures, and operational best practices.

3+ years CDL experience preferred.

The Driver, Linehaul is responsible for operating a commercial vehicle over state lines to deliver freight in an efficient, timely manner from one location to another. As a Driver, Linehaul, it is essential to abide by all traffic laws and perform regular vehicle maintenance checks to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Obtain and maintain proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation.
DOT log compliance and other required paperwork.

Must adhere to all FMCSA requirements of those holding a Commercial Driver's License.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
• Drives a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight.
• Load and unload truck either individually or with assistance of dockworkers. Mechanical freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate.
• Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight.
• Securing of freight may be required through strapping or other methods.
• Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
• Comply with all Federal requirements regarding the transportation of Hazardous Materials.
• Drive straight truck in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, normally in periods of driving within hours of service limitations, followed by an off-duty period as required by regulatory requirements.
• Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver's logs and other records required by law.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• A minimum age of 21.
• A minimum of 1 year of verifiable class B equipment experience .
• All drivers must pass a road test administered by a Dohrn Transfer Driver Trainer.
• All drivers must possess, or obtain within the required time period, and maintain Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsements on their current valid driver's license issued by the resident state in which they reside.
• All drivers are to possess only one valid driver's license (CDL) issued by the resident state of the driver. Operators who have recently transferred from another state must produce a copy of the former license or provide license information for verification from that state. Drivers will need to provide information on all licenses held within the previous 36 months.
• No record of citation or conviction of any DUI / OWI or Reckless Driving within the previous 5 years.
• Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Summary: The tow truck operator position consists of communicating with a dispatcher, driving to the scene of an accident or breakdown, connecting the vehicle to the tow truck, and transporting it back to the service station or junkyard.
Job Duties:
•The driver will be responsible for attaching the disabled vehicle to the tow truck. Depending on the type of tow truck, this may include using a chain, winch, steering locks, and other devices as well as affixing lights onto the towed vehicle.
•Drivers will interact with customers, speaking to them about their auto issues and providing necessary assistance.
•Communicates well with our advocates and possess a basic knowledge of cars and automotive parts.
•May perform small repairs on the scene of a breakdown such as changing tires, reconnecting parts, or jumpstarting the car.
•Writes up reports of services rendered and accepts payments.
•Receives payments by cash, credit cards or automatic debits.
•Adheres to MNDOT policy and procedure.
•Provide an impeccably clean view for the advocate into our tow trucks.
•Actively promote our products and services to every advocate.
Requirements:
•Must have a valid driver's license and a record of safe driving.
•Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
•Prior work experience is not necessary.
•Experience in trucking or automotive repair is a plus.
