This position is based out of our Petersburg, VA Headquarters. Job Summary Heartland Concrete has an immediate opening for an experienced CDL-A driver willing to train on the operation of our mobile mixers and reap the benefit from our progressive pay scale that compensates for the level of skill acquired, not time on the job. Responsibilities and Duties Drive both CDL Class A and Class B trucks safely using ELD software Understands safe driving practices and standards Follows directions and adhere to delivery schedules and instructions Desire and ability to learn new skills Provides quality control on truck preparation; completes dry equipment runs. Keeps mobile mixer clean and functioning. Assist in the calibration of mobile mixers (requires lifting 70 lb. totes onto a scale on the ground) Submit pre-trip vehicle safety inspection and report any issues to the supervisor Occasionally work on out-of-town projects for up to 5 nights a week away from home.
