ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - ALL DRIVER POSITIONS (including Bobtail) Essential Functions Statement(s) • Check vehicles pre and post trip to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order (DVIRs). • Maneuver trucks safely into loading or unloading positions and check that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. • Collect delivery instructions from Dispatch, verifying instructions and routes. • Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. • Report and document vehicle defects (DVIR), accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles to your supervisor. • Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading as needed to comply with state and federal regulations. • Safely drive trucks to transport and deliver products. • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required. • Operate equipment, such as Samsung tablets, Samsara Driver App (Global tracking and electronic driver logs), Cargas, and cell phones, to exchange necessary information with dispatch, supervisors, or other drivers. • Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid, changing fuses or lights. • Collect bills of lading (If applicable) or shipping papers and submit them to the office. • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. • Read and interpret directions and maps to follow vehicle route issued by Dispatch. • Safely load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles, and using other equipment as necessary. • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods. • Immediately report truck maintenance issues to your supervisor. • Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times. • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, tire chains, or fuses. • Obtain and maintain required CETP certification through the Propane Education & Research Council and Texas Railroad Commission certification (if based in Texas). • Daily interaction with customers, providing exceptional customer service by supplying service information and answering inquiries. • Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage. • Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting, or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks. • Crank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles. • Accurately and thoroughly relay gallon total delivered to dispatch before leaving customer location. • Email bill of lading paperwork with delivery location written on bill of lading to **********************.
