Job DescriptionRDH is looking for Class B or Class A CDL drivers to join our expanding tri-axle dump truck fleet. First and foremost, we pride ourselves on building a reputation of safety, and we expect our drivers to operate each truck in a safe and responsible manner at all times. Cell phone use must be hands-free when the vehicle is on the road. Every driver must be drug-free and submit to a pre-employment drug screening as well as random screenings throughout the year. Prior dump truck experience is preferred but not required, but the ideal candidate will have a clean driving record. Also, each new team member will be subject to at least one week of a ride/ drive along regardless of prior experience. The driver upon hire must sign up for the TRUX app and familiarize themselves with becoming proficient at using it daily on his/ her smartphone. Our trucks are 2017 year models or newer with automatic transmissions, and we ask our drivers to keep them as clean as possible. The driver will be responsible for washing and cleaning the truck inside and out at least once a week, and the bed should be shoveled out when needed. The driver must insure they arrive to the jobsite at least 10 minutes before the specified starting time and work until the job foreman cuts them off. Expect to work at least 10-12+ hours/ day and 5-6 days/ week unless our jobs are postponed or canceled due to weather. The Dump Truck Driver position requires an extreme amount of body movement and some manual labor including, but not limited to leg movement, engaging/disengaging clutch, depressing brake pedal and accelerator, and climbing onto bed; wrist and arm movement, changing gears, steering of vehicle and operating of controls; neck movement, moves head back and forth to see out of side mirrors; manual labor, digging materials from bed, and if required, assisting crews with general labor work, i.e. shoveling, etc. Adheres to all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, including but not limited to the safety manual, the employee handbook, and the fleet safety manual. Answers directly to the Trucking Supervisor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, bend and twist at waist, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and the ability to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing standard red, green and amber. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally required to work long hours, (normal work hours average 10 to 12 hours per day; conditions may dictate up to 15 hours to complete the project). QUALIFICATIONS: Must maintain a valid CDL License. Must adhere to company policy to receive a current Medical Examiner's Certificate. Minimum of 2 years truck driving experience preferred. Experience with trucks equipped with third axle. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Job Description The Dump Truck Driver Class B is responsible for operating heavy-duty trucks for transporting materials to and from project sites. Duties & Responsibilities: Operates and maneuvers Class B dump trucks to transport construction materials between sites. Loads and unloads materials efficiently, ensuring proper distribution and securing of the load. Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the dump truck. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and report any issues promptly. Maintains effective communication with construction site supervisors and other team members to coordinate material deliveries and pickups. Performs routine maintenance on the dump truck, such as checking fluid levels, and tire pressure, and ensuring overall vehicle functionality. Keeps accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and any incidents that may occur during transportation. Addresses and resolves any issues that may arise during transportation, such as traffic delays or mechanical problems, while keeping supervisors informed. Performs other duties as assigned.
