    Full-time Description The Roots Shuttle Program transports clients being released from custody to three drop-off points: Dublin/Pleasanton BART, Oakland Coliseum BART, and Eastmont Transit Center from 9 a.m. to midnight. Shuttles will make two round trips per hour to transport clients to drop-off points. The Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transport of our passengers. This position requires strict adherence to schedules and transport-related laws and regulations. The Shuttle Bus Driver must also be able to diagnose and remedy basic mechanical issues that may arise. Duties and Responsibilities: Transport passengers to and from the designate route stops. Conduct safety checks on the shuttle bus before every use. Arrive at collection points prior to departure times. Confirm that all passengers are present, and record no-shows. Ensure adherence to passenger limits, both seated and standing. Avoid high-traffic and accident-prone routes, where possible. Record and report all major accidents and incidents to your supervisor. Check that passengers disembark at the correct destinations, and in a timely manner. Ensure that the shuttle bus is fueled, well-maintained, and presentable at all times. Observe all relevant traffic and safety laws. Attend all department and staff meetings as required. Requirements Competencies California Driver's License B with safe driving record. Must pass all requirements set forth by applicable transportation and State agencies and be able to provide proper documentation. Previous experience driving groups of people. Outstanding knowledge of applicable transport and safety codes. First Aid training is preferred. Working knowledge of pertinent car maintenance and restoration techniques. Ability to work Monday through Saturday, with a varied schedule weekly.
