What you'll do on a typical day:
Drive a tractor in and around the site or on public roads, moving multiple styles of trailers
Inspect tractor/yard truck before and after the shift
Maneuver tractor/trailer safely throughout the facility within the designated lanes and areas
Maintain housekeeping within assigned tractor/trailer and defined areas
Inspect trailers to be moved to verify condition
Work safely and adhere to all safety policies and practices
Perform driver ride-along reviews, conduct road tests, do site audits an more
What you need to succeed at GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
At least 6 months experience with 53ft tractor/trailer
A current valid CDL class A

About the Role:
The Class A CDL Tanker Driver is a critical position responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of liquid cargo to various destinations. This role requires adherence to all safety regulations and company policies while ensuring timely deliveries. The driver will be expected to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and compliance. Additionally, the position involves maintaining accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance. Ultimately, the success of this role contributes to the overall operational efficiency and customer satisfaction of our logistics services. This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others. Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Extensive traveling
Delivery equipment ranges from 30-45' open-top dump trailers (combination vehicles) across a regional footprint determined by management.
Operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles by DOT requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
Perform pre-and post-trip inspections.
Typical use of hand tools for basic repairs of company bins and equipment.
Maintenance of basic truck equipment and overall cleanliness of equipment.
Utilize electronic logging system for DOT driver logs and as otherwise required.
Maintain paperwork (contamination and service tickets, truck maintenance, etc.) and submit all documentation to the appropriate party.
Regularly communicate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
Communicate with the corporate office/operations team regularly for all service, equipment, and customer service-related issues.
Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the safety manager.
Ability to work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to 60 hours in a 7-day week or 70 hours in 8 days.
Attend and participate in weekly safety calls, trainings, or briefings.
Basic usage of computer and cell phone for training, communication, and expense management

Valid Class CDL-A in state of residence with a TANKER endorsement - Roll Off or Triaxle. End dump experience is a plus in some areas.

A USAL driver / car hauler is responsible for transporting vehicles between manufacturing facilities, shipping ports, rail yards, terminals, and dealerships. The driver / car hauler partners with our operations, safety, and administrative teams to ensure the safe, on-time, legally-compliant, and damage-free delivery of our customers' vehicles.
What We Offer
A pay-for-performance model; average annual salary of $105,000
Annual bonus potential of $10,000-$15,000
Training pay of $1,300-$1,500 per week
$0.73 per mile for all miles

Minimum Requirements
At least 23 years of age
Valid Class A CDL with clean MVR
Valid DOT medical certificate
At least one (1) year of OTR experience operating a Class 8 tractor and minimum 41' trailer
High school diploma or GED; however, two (2) years of auto transport experience within the past five years will be accepted in lieu of educational requirement
Clean pre-employment screening and drug test
Successful interview and road test
Ability to read and write English
Legally able to work in the United States
Transitioning veterans - Honorable discharge, minimum of three (3) years' experience in MOS 88M or 3531, and Military Skills Test Waiver
General / Physical Job Duties
Safely climb in/out of a tractor cab and on trailer
Sit for extended periods of time
Walk and stand for extended periods of time on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery, including working outdoors in inclement weather
Reach (including above head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel
Operate a tractor-trailer in all types of weather, while safely transporting vehicles
Plan travel routes and meet delivery schedules
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, accidents, or violations
Maintain courteous, professional behavior and a neat appearance
