The Gurney Van Driver will operate a gurney van equipped to provide nonemergency transport of mobility- impaired individuals to and from hospitals, convalescent facilities, private homes, dialysis units, doctor's offices, rehabilitation centers, etc. in a safe and timely manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Picks up patients at home or other facility. Provides the assistance required to safely board patients and caregivers. • Operates Stryker gurney as needed for safe and comfortable patient transportation. • On arrival at medical facility, assists patients in exiting the van and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas. • Checks the van to ensure that no personal items are left behind. • Provides first-aid or CPR if required during patient transport. Immediately notifies emergency staff and dispatcher if skilled assistance is required. • Completes reports at the end of a shift. • Immediately reports traffic accidents to dispatcher, requesting police or ambulance service as needed. Drivers must have transportation to and from work, as the tractor must stay at the terminal. Drivers will be home multiple nights per week. Deliveries will be in and around the Redlands area, but could be farther. Compensation Compensation for California resident professional drivers is comprised of (1) Hourly Pay and (2) Production Pay. Hourly Pay is calculated by multiplying the total hours worked by $18.00 per hour. Production Pay is calculated as any amount above your Hourly Pay based on the Trip Calculations Amount.
