What are the Duties?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be Mechanically Inclined
Truck Trailer Experience Preferred
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on Truck Trailers
Use of mobile technology to record and manage all repairs
Diesel Technician experience or background helpful
Ability to be a dependable team player
Must be able to work independently and safely
Major shop tools and diagnostic equipment is provided
PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.

**Position** : Truck-Trailer-Refrigeration Mechanic/Technician - Oakhurst Dairy

**Location** : Portland, Maine


Oakhurst Dairy is seeking a diesel technician / truck mechanic at our fleet maintenance facility in Portland, Maine. Oakhurst Dairy currently maintains a fleet of Freightliner, Kenworth, Great Dane and Carrier Refrigeration equipment. We have a small, capable, loyal and committed team to support our fleet. Oakhurst Dairy is a 100 year-old, locally managed company and provides northern New England consumers with the freshest, highest quality dairy products in the marketplace. As a diesel technician / truck mechanic you will:

· Perform general and preventative maintenance to CMV trucks, tractors and trailers

· Diagnose and repair vehicle mechanical issues such as brakes, suspension, air and hydraulic systems

· Perform diagnostic troubleshooting to identify and repair diesel engines and resolve emissions issues

· Troubleshoot, repair and maintain diesel refrigeration units on trucks and trailers

· Perform some fabrication and final setup / commissioning of new vehicles

· Respond to road calls as necessary in the Southern Maine & New Hampshire region

**Requirements**

· High School Diploma or GED preferred or five years of experience in inspection, brake and/or vehicle mechanic work on commercial vehicles with refrigeration experience a plus.

· Class A Commercial Driver's license and Maine Inspection License required (Will support/train candidate to acquire)

· Strong ability to properly troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues related to equipment systems

· Typical personal hand tools - shared shop tools for larger equipment

· Good written communication to properly complete work order and DVIR processes

**Working Knowledge of:**

· Diesel engine maintenance & repair

· Chassis, suspension, brake

· Lift / hydraulic repair

· Welding, minor body repair / light fabrication

· State of Maine Inspection License (can be obtained within a 6 month timeframe)

· Other duties as assigned
