The Digital Content Coordinator tells TMCC's story across multiple digital platforms, connecting students, employees, alumni, donors, workforce partners and community leaders to the mission and impact of the College. As the primary manager of TMCC's social platforms, this position creates authentic, student-centered and visually compelling video, graphic and written content that builds community, strengthens the College's reputation, and supports institutional priorities. Beyond social media, the coordinator develops digital newsletters and feature stories that highlight TMCC's innovation, partnerships, and student success for a broader audience. Central to this role is close collaboration within and outside the Marketing and Communications department and across the College to amplify student success, faculty innovation, and community partnerships. This role combines creativity, storytelling, and data-informed strategy to enhance TMCC's digital presence and ensure consistency with the College's brand. Key Responsibilities Digital Content Creation * Manage and curate content for TMCC's primary digital platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, ensuring all content aligns with TMCC's brand and storytelling goals. * Create engaging, platform-appropriate visuals and copy, including photography, video, graphics, and written posts that reflect TMCC's student-centered mission. * Develop and publish digital newsletters that share College news, success stories, and opportunities with key stakeholder groups, including students, employees, alumni, donors, workforce partners and community leaders. * Coordinate, produce, and edit blog stories and TMCC website content to extend the reach of campaigns and highlight institutional achievements. * Collaborate with design, photography, and videography team members to ensure consistent branding and cohesive storytelling. * Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to develop and implement creative campaigns that support College initiatives and priorities. * Manage and mentor student content creators to ensure authentic storytelling that resonates with student audiences. * Support additional Marketing and Communications projects as assigned. Community Engagement and Strategy * Build and nurture TMCC's online community by responding to comments, messages, tags, and reviews across platforms (including Google, Yelp and Reddit), fostering dialogue and meaningful relationships with followers. * Plan and maintain a consistent posting cadence through a strategic content calendar that aligns with institutional priorities, seasonal campaigns, and audience engagement trends. * Ensure all shared content is intentional, timely, and relevant with tone as messaging tailored to specific audiences. * Partner with campus departments to source authentic stories and create audience-informed campaigns that enhance visibility and engagement. * Develop and coordinate a digital ambassador program that empowers students and employees to contribute and share collaborative content, expanding TMCC's storytelling reach across multiple platforms. * Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to evaluate content performance, refine engagement tactics, and align community-building efforts with TMCC's overall marketing objectives. Training and Support * Audit and provide oversight of departmental social media accounts to ensure brand consistency, compliance with guidelines, and unified messaging. * Provide training, tools, and consultation for departmental account administrators to strengthen their ability to plan, create, and manage content effectively. * Act as a collaborative resource for faculty, staff, and students to align their content contributions with TMCC's overall branding and messaging. * Supervise and mentor student content creators, providing hands-on guidance to develop skills in social media storytelling and digital production. * Encourage and provide guidance to Executive Director and College leadership in leveraging their personal brand to share key messages and model authentic, mission-aligned engagement with TMCC content across social media. Trend Exploration and Innovation * Monitor emerging digital trends, platforms, and tools to identify creative opportunities that enhance TMCC's brand visibility and engagement. * Evaluate and recommend new social media channels, formats, or features when strategically aligned with TMCC's audience and goals. * Introduce innovative approaches to content creation, automation, and storytelling that improve efficiency and keep TMCC's digital presence fresh and relevant. Analytics and Reporting * Track, analyze, and report on digital engagement metrics across social media, newsletters, and web content, providing regular insights and recommendations to enhance reach and effectiveness. * Use performance data to inform content strategy, guide posting cadence, and optimize campaigns for engagement and conversion. * Employ social listening tools to monitor audience sentiment, trends, and community conversations relevant to TMCC. * Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to interpret data and translate insights into actionable improvements. On-Call Social Media Support * Serve as the primary contact for urgent or time-sensitive digital communications, ensuring timely updates during emergencies, such as weather closures, last-minute notifications, or critical announcements. * Coordinate closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications during emergencies to maintain consistent messaging across all platforms. * Maintain limited after-hours availability to post and manage real-time updates as needed, safeguarding TMCC's ability to communicate quickly and effectively with students, employees, and the community. Minimum Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, 2. One (1) year of professional experience managing organizational or institutional social media channels OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3. Demonstrated success in developing and executing creative social media content and campaigns. 4. Proficiency in digital content creation, including photography, videography, editing, and graphic design. 5. Strong writing and editing skills with attention to storytelling, clarity and brand voice. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience with social media scheduling, analytics, and listening tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social). 2. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere Pro), Canva, and mobile video editing apps such as CapCut. 3. Familiarity with content management systems and email marketing platforms (e.g., WordPress, Constant Contact, or Mailchimp). 4. Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish. 5. Experience producing content for community-centered audiences. Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Confocal and Biological Imaging Core Manager, College of Science [R0149458]. ROLE of the POSITION The Confocal and Biological Imaging Core Manager provides full time technical support, management, operation and upkeep of all microscope modalities in the imaging core at UNLV. The core manager will provide research and microscopy support to UNLV faculty/researchers and outside users. They will train students, manage supply inventory, prepare imaging samples, make media and other reagents. The incumbent will be able to perform standard methods of molecular and cell biology, such as for DNA cloning and/or tissue culture. The manager will prepare tissues for histology and perform immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and other staining techniques on biological samples as needed by the core users. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a PhD from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years of experience. 5-7 years of experience as well as Postdoctoral Scholar experience are preferred. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date. KNOWLEDGE Required * Extensive experience in the operation of multiple light microscopy modalities including laser scanning confocal. * Knowledge of Windows-based operating systems and associated software applications is a necessity. * Must be willing to continually keep abreast of new technical developments in light microscopy and implement these in the laboratory. * Must be able to collaborate effectively with both internal and external users; this includes sample preparation, analysis, data interpretation, and description of analytical techniques/interpretation for manuscript submission. * Demonstrated knowledge of image analysis software application, including but not limited to FIJI and Imaris. * Multiplex imaging. Preferred * Multiphoton or x-ray tomography experience. * Knowledge of lab safety and hazardous waste disposal and serve on committees related to facilities operation. * 4D live cell microscopy experience. SKILLS Required * Must be capable of managing accounts and creating facility use schedules. * Troubleshoot and solve equipment and analytical problems arising in the laboratory. * Must be able to teach faculty, students, and outside users light microscopy theory in an annual analytical methods course. Must instruct users on proper sample preparation to ensure that this does not affect negatively the analytical results. * Must be able to train faculty, students, and outside users in the operation of a laser scanning confocal, deconvolved wide field and multiphoton microscopy, and associated equipment. * Must be able to assess the needs of users and work with them by performing quality control on all analyses to ensure that data are suitable to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
