Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary. Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency. This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Moncayo Golf & Ocean Club, set outside of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Moncayo Golf & Ocean Club is seeking a Barback to join the Food and Beverage Service Department. The Barback will be responsible for assisting the Bartenders and F&B Leaders in stocking and preparing food and beverage areas for service and maintaining and stocking supplies for service. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional service and communication at all times with members / guests and team members. Greet all guests and members politely and promptly, proactively anticipate needs to enhance experience, demonstrate sense of urgency for responding to guest needs during all interactions. Continuously restock bars, restrooms, and comfort stations to ensure proper inventory levels and presentation, maintain records and report levels of usage to assist in reordering process, ensure that delivered items are stored properly. Check equipment to confirm proper working order, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, if needed. Complete opening and closing duties according to procedures. Assist entire food and beverage team as needed with taking orders, preparing beverages, serving guests, entering orders to POS, handling dining checks, and securing payment. Knowledge of menu items and cocktail recipes to answer guest questions or prepare orders. Adhere to food safety, cleanliness, and safety standards. Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least one (1) year of previous experience in food and beverage, preferably in a fast paced, high-end establishment, or related experience in hospitality or customer service. Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate. Knowledgeable of wines and beverages. Additional Requirements Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds. Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
