Responsible for scan lab and didactic instruction of Cardiovascular Imaging (CVI) students enrolled in the Cardiovascular Imaging Leadership program. Teaches both non-invasive vascular testing techniques and adult echocardiography as prescribed by the Intersocietal Commission on Accreditation (IAC) standards and guidelines. Works alongside staff sonographers and CVI students as liaison to ensure smooth transition from classroom environment to clinical setting. Provides support to students and staff during educational activities including, but not limited to, classroom instruction, scan lab exercises, marketing events, CME/continuing education seminars, staff development activities, etc. Supports quality improvement projects in clinical areas throughout Prisma Health aimed at advancing standardization of clinical procedures and improving the patient experience. Assists the program director with CAAHEP and JRC-CVT programmatic accreditation tasks as needed. Essential Functions All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Assists the program director with didactic and clinical education via extensive knowledge/experience with a variety of non-invasive cardiovascular testing techniques. Incorporates latest standards and guidelines from the American Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI), American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), the Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU), the Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) into teaching material for relating best practices to students and clinical staff. Provides objective feedback of students' skills via verbal and written communication. Assists program director with journal club activities, student clinical schedules, marketing, MedEx training, clinical workshops, staff development activities and other educational activities as needed. Participates in data collection and internal auditing for programmatic accreditation as prescribed by the Joint Review Committee for Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT).
