Job Description
The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, in conjunction with its major teaching facility, University Health-Truman Medical Centers (UH-TMC), seeks a full-time Board Eligible or Board Certified Gynecology Oncologist Faculty member through University Health Physicians, its primary academic group practice. This Gynecology Oncologist physician will join our faculty in the Department of OB/GYN at the UH-TMC Health Sciences District and Lakewood locations in Kansas City, MO, which serve a diverse metropolitan area of approximately 2.4 million.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in allied health medical field, another related field

* Associate degree in laboratory science or medical technology, plus two years of high-complexity testing experience
* Grandfathered qualification as a general supervisor per 42 CFR 493.1427 (pre-2/29/92)
Additional Requirements:
* Three years' experience as an MLS; specialized training in one or more lab areas preferred
* Prior managerial experience with direct reports is required
* Strong leadership and organizational skills to coordinate staff and workflow
* Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
* Proficient in documentation, reporting, and use of lab software systems
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds
* Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently

* Performing inpatient and outpatient registrations with accuracy and care
* Helping patients meet financial requirements and navigating insurance processes
* Answering questions and providing info to patients, families, and other hospital users
* Communicating with clinical and service teams to support smooth patient flow
* Scheduling and activating orders as needed
* Keeping the focus on outstanding customer service at every turn
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience as a Patient Access Representative or Scheduling Rep
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and handle sensitive inquiries with professionalism
Comfortable reading and interpreting clinical, financial, and legal documents
Basic computer and keyboarding skills
Bonus Points (Preferred Qualifications):
2+ years of experience in a patient-facing role
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Insurance verification and prior authorization experience
Bilingual (especially Spanish-speaking) is a huge plus!
