• 2 Year degree in architectural drafting or estimating is preferred
• Experience in truss design, layout, working with 3D applications, takeoff, quoting and/or sales is helpful.
• Adaptability in a fast place environment where priorities can be redirected
• Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills; you’re a team player.
• Ability to maintain and enhance positive customer relations.
• Organized, detail oriented, and good math skills.
• Experience with Alpine software is a plus

Wisconsin Building Supply, a Division of USLBM Is Seeking a Truss Designer for our Green Bay, WI location.

Schedule: Mon-Fri: Shifts are 8-10 hours per day between 6:00 am 5:00pm

Wage: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience

How you will spend your day as a Truss Designer:

* Create component designs for shop fabrication based on information gathered from customers and project documents.
* Design residential roof and floor system and produce layouts using Mitek software
* Partner with your internal and external customers to ensure accuracy on estimates.
* Maintain job related files, including project status' and electronic filing.
* Using critical thinking skills to resolve architectural and design discrepancies.
* Create and update component designs for prefabrication shop and field installation
* Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers as needed providing accurate, timely, and through information.
* Looking for a Truss Designer to layout floor and roof trusses using Mitek software. Need to have a minimum of 3 years experience.

BASIC FUNCTION: Design wood trusses according to SBCA/TPI standards and recommendations and current building codes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and interpret architectural and structural truss drawings.
• Produce individual truss designs and final layouts for the roof or floor system.
• Provide engineering support to clients when needed.
• Work in partner with sales personnel to ensure individual client needs and expectations are being met.
• Resolves truss problems according to engineering specifications.
• Maintains knowledge of all department responsibilities and job functions for support.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

MiTek or Alpine Software experience

Experience designing for residential, custom, tract and multi-family projects

CAD experience

Computer drafting skills

Strong communication skills, written and verbal

Strong math skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks

At least one year of direct experience designing floor and roof trusses required
