We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Construction Manager I or II - Energy Resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of construction and maintenance projects as assigned and the project management of assigned projects) in a timely and efficient manner using internal and contracted resources. This includes preparation of scope of work for bidding purposes, bid evaluation, identification of project specifications, and construction management. Review of design for construction feasibility, inspection of work for craftsmanship and specification conformity, scheduling, taking and issuing clearances. Coordinate priority and timely project completion with internal stakeholders and ensure financial reporting expectations are met.

* Verify that construction packages are complete and ready to go out to bid or be worked by internal or external resources including; staging of material, necessary permits acquired and bluestake is completed and valid.
* Prepare Request for Pricing (RFP) documents included written scope of work and price sheets.
* Verify for correctness and approve contractor timesheets, and support invoicing payment processing.
* Inspect contractor construction methods and results, verify satisfactory completion in accordance with established Tucson Electric Power's standards and specifications. and industry safety standards,
* Resolve Contractor work conflicts with input from internal stakeholders. Resolve conflicts with other parties that have an interest in the project such as general contractors, property owners and Tucson Electric Power Co./UNSE customers.
* Provide construction feasibility feedback to internal stakeholders during project design and construction.
* Provide input to internal and external stakeholders for the scheduling of the work backlog in order to set project priorities and meet required completion dates.
* Track daily project status including written weekly reports for each project.
* Review and submit Contractor's As-Built drawings to Engineering for project closure and records management.
* Frequent travel to remote power production sites in Arizona
* Maintain project records in the Work Management System including status of issues and providing communications of issues that may result in Change Order(s).
* Fiduciary responsibilities for part or all associated projects

Level I

Description

* Will have primary responsibility for small to medium projects as the Construction manager.
* May have several projects assigned at the same time.
* Will work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the activities of their resources.

Minimum Qualifications

* High School diploma or GED required.

* Bachelors of Science or related degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

* Two years of Construction Supervisor or project management experience required.

* Is a self-starter and has developed good time management and communication skills.

* Has an in-depth knowledge of construction standards and practices.

* Possesses good leadership skills and is comfortable leading meetings and coordinating with other work groups.

* Ability to use essential computer software, including Maximo, Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to learn other systems internal to TEP.

* Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and all levels of Company personnel

Preferred Qualifications

* Four years in skilled trades related to electric utilities and/or construction preferred.
* Familiar with TEP Rules and Regulations, Service Requirement Specifications and construction practices, and with governmental agency procedures preferred
* Demonstrated knowledge of electric facility requirements and practices, including an understanding of electrical drawings and plan and profile drawings preferred.
* Familiarity with construction drawings, knowledge of cost estimating techniques, construction contracts, and rights?of?way preferred.

Level II

* Will have primary responsibility for medium to large projects as the Construction manager.
* May have several projects assigned at the same time.

* Bachelors of Science, or related degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required

* Perform budgetary and cost studies as required, including the evaluation of vendor material pricing, competing products, and historical material usage. Prepare recommendation reports supporting financial results.

* Ensure that all construction and material standards information and documentation are accurate and updated in a timely manner. AutoCAD experience is desired.
* Provide technical assistance on construction practices and materials used as needed.
* Maintain knowledge of the various national standards (i.e. ANSI, IEEE, NESC, OSHA, NEC, ASTM, NEMA).
* Provide recommendations and decisions for standards issues. Is proactive in evaluating methods to reduce costs, increase reliability, and improve safety.
* Assist or lead the development and implementation of methods used for standards material tracking.
* Initiate work orders, material requisitions, and other purchasing and project tracking documentation as appropriate.
* Provide representation and/or facilitation in the various Standards Committee activities. Including, creation and revision of material, construction, tool, and electric service requirement standards.
* Report to designated Supervisor and perform various assignments as requested.
* This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Engineer I

Job Description

* Will have primary responsibility for small modification or revision projects. Will assist more experienced engineers in large projects. Will assist in the review and revision of material and design standards. Requires close supervision and detailed instruction for tasks and expected results

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires BS degree in Engineering with an emphasis in power related classes preferred, and less than two years professional experience in an engineering role.

Engineer II

Job Description

* Will have primary responsibility for medium sized projects and act as the project engineer/manager. Will assist more experienced engineers in large projects. May be assigned to perform technical studies as needed. May have several projects assigned at the same time.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires two or more years of professional experience as an Engineer I, or MSEE with an emphasis in power related classes. Shall have strong analytical capabilities and requires close supervision on new aspects of assignments.

Engineer III

Job Description

* Will have primary responsibility for medium to large projects and act as the project engineer/manager. May have several projects or studies assigned at the same time and may assist other engineers in large projects. Will direct the designs of technicians when necessary. Can represent TEP when meeting with other Companies or organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires two or more years of professional experience as an Engineer II. Is a self-starter and has developed good time management skills, completing all assignments on time. Has developed good leadership skills and is fully comfortable leading meetings and speaking in front of others. Requires technical guidance and supervision on non-standard assignments projects.

Engineer IV

Job Description

* Will have primary responsibility for projects of any size or complexity and act as the project engineer/manager. May be assigned to perform technical studies as needed. May have several projects assigned at the same time and may assist other engineers in large projects. Follows approved standards in design with minor modifications. Can represent TEP when meeting with other companies or organizations. Will assist in training of less experienced engineers or technicians.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires two or more years of professional experience as an Engineer III. Is able to work independently on most projects but needs technical guidance on unusual or complex projects, and supervisory approval on proposed plans. Time management, technical knowledge, and economic consideration are exhibited in all assignments. Basic leadership skills have been developed.

Senior Lead Engineer

Job Description

* A top-level individual contributor who may be assigned any project that is within the section's responsibilities. Approves design changes and creates new design standards. They will be the primary source of training for the section and will share information openly. Will assist in personnel selection. Can represent TEP when meeting with other Companies or organizations. Primary focus will be on supervisory skills training, but must be technically proficient. Provides direct backup support for section Supervisor in allocating work assignments to other engineering personnel, preparing and doing performance evaluation and assist in manpower planning.

* Requires two or more years of professional experience as an Engineer IV. Proficient in all aspects of time management, project organization, and technical analysis. Senior Technical Engineer

Job Description

* A top-level individual contributor who may be assigned complex, multiple projects that are within the section's responsibilities. Approves design changes and creates new design standards. Provides leadership to the section from a technical standpoint. Will be the primary source of technical training for the section and will share information openly. Will be the first option in performing technical studies and applying new designs and technical solutions. Can represent TEP when meeting with other Companies or organizations. Primary focus will be on technical development. They may be assigned as a mentor to new or less experienced engineers in the section from a technical standpoint.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires two or more years of professional experience as an Engineer IV. Proficient in all aspects of time management, project organization, and technical analysis. Makes decisions independently and does not require guidance or supervision on any technical or project management duty. Supports all decision making with superior technical knowledge and economic analysis. Has genuine interest in technical areas and further increasing technical knowledge in their specific area. Needs guidance only on overall objectives, policy matters or critical issues.
