JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Utilities staff member is responsible for the organized storage and sanitation of kitchenware and equipment, ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment. This role involves maintaining the utility areas and assisting with food service operations as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Organized Storage: Maintain organized storage of dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen items in designated areas. Sanitation: Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of utility areas and equipment, including the area behind the dish machine. Soiled Dish Management: Keep the soiled dish area organized and clean during and at the end of service periods. Dish Machine Operation: Operate the dish machine properly to clean all dishes used within the kitchen and for events. Schedule Awareness: Stay informed about the weekly work schedule and adhere to uniform requirements. Assistance in Food Service: Assist with kitchen plate-up, food service setup, and breakdown as needed. Breakage Reporting: Report any breakage of dishes or equipment to management promptly. Pots and Pans Cleaning: Wash dirty pots and pans using the sink and dishwasher as required. Sanitization of Surfaces: Wipe down and sanitize all metal surfaces in the dish room between functions and at the end of the day. Mop Closet Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized mop closet. Floor Maintenance: Sweep and mop floors between functions and at the end of the day, or as requested by management. Food Service Setup: Set up and remove food service equipment and tables for service and assist with the breakdown area for banquet servers. Time Management: Punch in and out at scheduled times, including breaks and lunchtime. All other duties assigned. ** Ability to work a rotational schedule and holidays REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Preferred six (6) months of experience in dishwashing or a similar role. Food Safety Certification: ServSafe Food Handler certification is required. Work Hours: Ability to work irregular hours, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent customer service skills with peers and patients.
