JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: Reporting to the Director of Facilities and/or their designee, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing assistance with an overview for the safe and efficient functioning, maintenance and operation of all Tuerk House facilities, buildings, equipment, machinery, utilities, landscaping, systems, physical environment, facilities' aesthetics and grounds-keeping. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform minor repairs. Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues. Install appliances and equipment. Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems. (e.g. ventilation) Check functionality of safety systems. (e.g. fire alarm) Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment. Performing preventative maintenance. Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary. Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them. Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc. Repairing machines or structures as necessary. Conducts fire drills as assigned. Assists with transportation of clients as needed. Delivers all packages received. Other duties as assigned **Weekend and after hours may occur on emergency or scheduled bases. Must be okay with a Holiday rotation schedule as well REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma/GED. Valid Maryland driver's license. Minimum of three (3) years' experience/ Preferred five (5) years or more. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Basic knowledge of HVAC. Basic knowledge of plumbing. Basic knowledge of electrical systems. Proficient use of a Computer Management Maintenance System (CMMS). Basic knowledge of appliances. Basic knowledge of computer systems (i.e. Microsoft applications- Outlook, Excel, Word) Basic knowledge of drywall and painting. Experience using hand and electrical tools. Ability to read technical manuals and drawings. Personal belief in recovery and the recovery process. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and the public. High energy, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team. Ability to engage clients flexibly based on their individual needs. Respect for and maintenance of professional boundaries with all individuals. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Proficiency in reading, understanding, and speaking English. Background: This position requires successful background and drug test completion Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing and walking. Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The professional registered nurse Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, this position participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.
