Pros of working at Tuftco

The best thing about working here is the Frost family. They take care of the employees for sure. They aren’t extremely involved but they do make sure we have work, even when business is slow. Christmas bonuses. Quarterly raises. Jonathan Frost is one of the most amazing people you’ll ever meet. His Smile reaches his eyes.

Cons of working at Tuftco

The cons of working here is management. The owners are amazing people, however the upper management they have in place is terrible. If you have worked there for a long time and know people you can do whatever you want. However if you are new, you are expendable. I worked here. A lot of the people who have been here for 10+ years don’t bring doctors notes when they go to doctor visits. However since I had only been there for 2 years I was expected to bring every single one. Sometimes I would forget to bring it because I thought it wasn’t important. I got suspended for it. I asked if I could gather all the doctor notes I could so I could fix the problem and I was told it’s already in the system. Then my car broke down. I missed two days of work because of it. I asked if I could use my vacation days so that I could have it done by excused. Instead they terminated me and paid me out the vacation days. Being fired hurt me due to the fact that my car broke down for 2 days and that was unacceptable, but I had a coworker who would not fix his starter and he missed more than 20 days in a year due to his car not starting. But he’s been there about 10 years so there’s that. The pay is also pretty low compared to similar companies. There’s no matching 401K. You have to work there a year to receive 5 vacation days. Basically your first year you have 0 PTO. The president of the Tuftco in Chattanooga is a menace. Does not care about you nor the situation you find yourself in. He fired me and he knew my car broke down. I spent $400 a month in gas to get to work and he did not appreciate me doing that.
