DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The food service worker serves as a contributing member of the dining services team. This position works in close coordination with other dining services staff and under the supervision of supervisors and the executive chef to prepare, present, and serve food. The position supports all aspects of dining operations to include set up, cooking, cleaning, and general assistance to other dining services staff. As a member of the division or finance and administration, this position may assist with other division and college projects, events, and special assignments. Seasonally, this position may be assigned to the facilities department to assist with light duty assignments and tasks as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS: Must have knowledge of culinary weights and measures. Must be able to follow recipes and directions. Must have experience with handling knives and commercial kitchen equipment. Must be able to bend and twist at the waist. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time-up to 4 hours. Must have outstanding customer service skills and a desire to help others.     Substitute Food Service Worker Position Type: Per Diem - Work/school assignments are assigned on short notice, typically the day of or the previous day. Summary: The Watertown Public School District is in need of Substitute Food Service Workers. The successful candidate will assist in providing nutritious, attractive meals in accordance with established menus, recipes and guidelines set forth by the food service director and the government regulations of the National School Lunch/Breakfast Program. Responsibilities Reports to work on time; as scheduled Work/school assignments are assigned on short notice, typically the day of or previous day. Assists with Food preparation Prepares, serves and accounts for meals Cleans kitchen equipment and work area, including floor Set up serving line and serves meals in accordance with portion size Unpacks supplies and assists with stocking dry storage shelves and/or refrigerator shelves Wash dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans, utensils and dining tables Keep work environment clean at all times - maintains cleanliness of equipment, work area and flooring, in addition to work, preparation and break areas Ensure adherence to food safety and facility safety Perform quality control checks to ensure standards are met Communicates inferior products or procedures Able to work in team oriented environment Follow all safety and sanitation requirements Completes all other duties, as assigned.
